According to olutkulttuuri.fi, Sportteri on tuhti ja täyteläinen portteri, jonka korkeahkoa jäännösuutepitoisuutta tasapainottaa 55 EBU-yksikön hillitty katkerohumalointi. Aromihumaloina on käytetty sekä eurooppalaisia että amerikkalaisia lajikkeita. Olut on väriltään lähes piki musta. Tuoreeltaan ensiesiintymisen jälkeen Sportteri vetäytyy vielä kellariin kypsymään ja palaa luonteensa löydettyään tarjolle jouluksi ja siitä alkavaksi talvikaudeksi. Oluen kantavierre on 20 % ja alkoholipitoisuus 8,6 %. Batch 1 (winter 2008-9) was brewed on the premises at Bruuveri. Batch 2 (spring 2009) was brewed at Saimaan in Lappenranta, and is more filtered than batch 1.

Draught@Bruuveri. Very deep ruby colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, some toffee, alcohol, and mild dark dry fruits Flavour is roasted malts, alcohol, riped dark fruits and wooden notes. Lots of coffee in the aftertaste.
