Amber gold, with a malty body and a floral hop character, Brooklyn Lager is a revival of Brooklyn's pre-Prohibition all malt beers. This is the brewery's first and best selling beer. Brooklyn Lager is brewed only with malted barley, hops, water, and yeast, and will taste best before the freshness date indicated.

I tried this beer on February 26, 2008 at "Smokeless Joe's" in Toronto, Ontario. The beer poured a dark translucent amber colour with a white head which disappates to permanent lacing. The aroma was slightly malty, but had an unmistakable floral hoppiness that was a prelude of good things to come. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour had some hints of malt, but was very hoppy, with some grapefruit like bitterness in the finish. A very good beer.

Rated Nov. 2010. Poured up on tap at the Tampa Pourhouse with clear deep gold body and thin off white head. The aroma is fairly spicy with hops as well as some floral, thick sweet caramel and butterscotch. The taste has a chewy rich maltiness mixing with firm spicy hops, some floral hops, a mild level of caramel, some esters and a cloud of diacetyl hovering around the edges. I think the perceived butterscotch like note adds rather than takes away from the experience. Nice lager.

473ml can from LCBO. Pours a fairly large frothy off-white head and has a golden amber appearance. Has some nice sticky lacing. Aromas of earthy hops, caramel malt hints. Flavours are sweet, bready and caramel malts with some notes of earthy and resin hops. Nice smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Somewhat excessive carbonation. Medium bodied. Great retention. Pretty good.

Pours a clear copper golden beer with a big foamy white head. Smells hoppy, malty, flowery. Tastes malty, hoppy and a little bit piney. Tastes non alcoholic but has a big mouth feel. Well saturated and really refreshing. Great lager!

Nice amber/copper pour. Hops jump out -but mildly so. Thin head than dissaptes. Reminds me of a Marzen/Oktoberfest. Good enough for more in the future.

Comes out of the tap a beautiful clear orange amber with a thick, pale butter-tan head that leaves some substantial lacing. Aroma is strong, malty and slightly fruity. Malty flavor has firm fruity underpinning and a slight hoppy note. Firm-bodied texture is smooth, fizzy and lively. Normally I don’t care much for lagers, but this is a happy exception.

Pours a dark golden amber with a nice head. Not much for carbonation. Taste is heavily malted and reminds me of an ale. Tad on the chalky side as well. Not very good in my opinion .

Nothing really great. A pretty generic lager with the usual yellowish liquid (but with a small foggy quality to it), white head, scents of serious hops, which had me worried it was hopped up too much. And the usual mundane grainy flavors associated with a generic lager. I would not turn one down if it were the only lager offered, but I have had better.

Deep clear gold, amberish. Toasty and floral aroma richer than expected. Good Belgian yeast and richly bitter. Don't usually enjoy lagers, but this one stands out.

Clear darker yellow with solid white foam head. Aroma is grassy, with something undefined. Taste is dry with fruit, grass flavors. Aftertaste is bit undefined, slightly bitter. (Houston 201208)

pours a orange-copper color with a sparse, uneven filmy covering. The aroma is of roasted grains and floral highlights. The taste is rich, roasted, and slightly tangy, with a biscuit and toast backbone and some juniper highlights. Roasty and tangy aftertaste, with a sharp, light, and crisp finish. Easy to drink with full body and flavors. Good.
