With its rich copper color & exquisitely hoppy nose, Bristol's RyePA impresses at the very start. From there, bright, citrusy hop flavor takes center stage, set against a more subtle but solid malt profile. The rye malt lends its characteristic crispness, making this a highly refreshing addition to our Brewhouse Series. Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7

Sampled on 9/28/2012. This Rye Beer pours a deep amber brown color from a 22oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is caramel, fruity and sweet, with a definite rye character as well. A medium bodied Rye beer. The malts are caramel, toffee, bready, fruity and sweet. Nice rye spiciness. The hops are herbal. Nice carbonation. Much more in the British Style of Pale Ale, much more on the malt side. The rye kind of highlights the malts instead of the hops. Decent carbonation. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

    Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6

22 oz bottle. Pours cola colored with red notes and a smallish off white head that goes to a thin film and leaves some lacing.

The aroma is sweet cola and caramel malts and some rye.

The flavor is sweet nutty caramel malts with some rye and fruit with a resiny bitterness. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and fairly watery.

Overall, a decent rye pale ale.
