BrewDog Old World India Pale Ale
BrewDog Old World India Pale Ale
Rated 3.417 by BeerPalshttp://beernews.org/2010/11/brewdog-pays-tribute-to-the-old-world/ The beers themselves are pretty special, too. The IPA is very much a tribute to the original IPAs and focuses on only English hops and predominantly Bramling Cross – the idea was to make an ‘Old World’ IPA as opposed to a West Coast American IPA.

Pours a clear, dark coppery amber with a fairly thick and fluffy pale golden tan head. Strong, hoppy aroma has a firm grapefruit overtone and a yeasty hint. Mouth-filling flavor is fruity and hoppy with some hop bitterness and a little honey-like sweetness that nicely balances it. Smooth texture has a decent amount of body and a fair tingle. OK overall.

Nothing on this label indicates that it's Brewdog, but after some research found out that this was it. Like an extra IPA, not quite a DIPA....cloudy medium orange-light brown appearance. Malty and decent amount of citrus hop, but not that real bitter kick you get with some of the domestic american IPAs. Was hoping for a little more from this, but was ok to try. Kind of forgetable though, as I would not get again. Grabbed their Russian Imperial Stout, so now expecting about the same from that.

A beautifully crafted beer. On initial pour there is a deep orange in the body color and in the head. It transforms into a deep amber. The head is frothy and big. There's good hang time. It settles into a thick ringlet. The nose is bready malt. The tasying again beautifully balanance malt and citric hops. Full bodied and smooth
