Our bottle-conditioned dark Saison ale pours dark amber in colour with a dense tan head. The aroma begins with a slightly phenolic Belgian yeast presence, fruity esters and a malt-based hint of caramel and bread crust. The higher level of carbonation is apparent on the first sip, bearing the specialty malt toffee sweetness which develops into a moderate spicy phenolic and spicy hop presence, ending with a smooth, sightly lingering finish.

Is this Trafalgar trying to make a fancier Belgian brew with this French wannabe brewery name ? Pours a cloudy caramel-amber with lots of particle through it. Beige creamy head, pretty good retention and some sticky-dirty lacing. Nice fruity aromas over the caramel malts, with Belgian yeast and notes of spices. Flat mouthfeel and the taste is a little disappointing. Yeasty caramel flavours, but nothing good like the nose. Always expecting worst from this brewery, but looks and smells good, so not as bad as expected.
