Nice little pick me up after a long day. Cherry is very dominent, but not over the top. Nice ruby red color with almost no head and lacing. Carbonation is lite but just enough.

Pours clearish raspberry with minimal head. Aroma yields tart and sour stonefruit and citrus, a berry hint. Flavor presents seriously tart and somewhat sour stonefruit, citrus, berry. Texture gives fair body and peppy fizz.

I am still trying to figure out the difference between a gueuze, a kriek, and a lambic, regardless this cherry elixer is one of my favourites. Cherry red in colour, mainly clear, with no head at all. Tart fruit, yeast, and musty notes comprise the aromatic component, The flavour starts off sweet before giving way to a tartness. Dry finish.

Notes from 12/25/12:
12oz-ish bottle served into some gaudy wine glass of ill repute. 2008 edition.
Pours out a dirty, brick brown, with a flimsy, equally tainted head. It is not pretty, but there are no noticeable chunks.
Smells of marachino cherries &/or cherry soda.
Doc's cherry cola flavor & numbing, cherry pesticide macerated skin bitterness. Subtly tart. Lingering bit of acidity.
Just a wink of carbonation. Not quite syrupy.

Clear dark red with redish lacing head. Aroma is sour cherry, taste is sweet cherry. Aftertaste is long lasting, turning bit sweeter in time. Nice fruit beer. (Velp 201309)

Embrace the Funk Fest. Deep cherry red pour, tall bubbly light pink head, some lacing, great carbonation. Fresh cherry aroma and flavor, lightly tart then sweet, almost cherry soda-like. Dessert beer, tasty.

pours a very dark mahogany/red with small bubbly white head that lasted about 20 seconds and has very little lacing. The aroma is a funky grassy, cherry and a yeasty body. The taste is cherry and then some funky earthiness. Tastes better after every sip. Sweet with a very very very mild tartness. The mouthfeel is not as carbonated as I expected, but is smooth and is light and refreshing, medium boided.

The color was intriguing. But, one sip and all that I could think of was that it was a poor mix of slo gin or Hawaiian Punch and beer. It has an odd aftertaste, as well. Disappointing, and there were others that were much better taste and feel.

375 ml green "champagne" bottle, vintage 2009, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4%. Ingredients include 25% cherries, sugar and sweetener. Beautiful red colour, big pink head. Lovely aroma of preserved cherries and cherry candy. The flavour is of course also dominated by cherries, but is neither as sweet nor as sour as I expected. Pleasant to drink, but the finish may feel a bit "empty".
