This is the first beer in our new series of small batch (40 gallons) oak aged ales. This beer is our red ale that has been aged in a French Oak barrel from the Burgundy Region in France. Before I purchased the barrels they were used for Syrah production for the last three years and as a result the oak influences have mellowed dramatically. This beer has aged for 20 days in our brew house after being filtered. Aromas of toasted nuts, caramel and vanilla. Flavors of roasted malts, bitter hops and an alcohol bite (about 7 % abv) are present. Yummy!
