I had this beer out of a keg on a fishing trip to the South Holston in Tennessee. This beer wasn't bad - it wasn't as malty as I would've liked. It was a bit dry ... but overall, not bad.

On tap @ Blackstone in Nashville. Pours a amber brown with a creamy head and some lacing. Slight carbonation. Aromas of nuts, malts, slight hops and a mustiness. Taste is earthy with a malty, nutty base with a funky hops mixed in.

Bottle. Poured a clear dark reddish brown color with a light, white head. Plenty of cabonation as the bubbles formed on the side of the bottle. Once the head left, it looked like a Dr. Pepper. Very light nutty aroma. Fizzy mouthfeel. This beer tasted pretty good, especially considering the weak aroma and odd look to it. Nice malty flavor of a good brown ale. Nothing to go out of the way for, but worth drinking.

This isn't one of the rich browns with a lot of malty complexity like the late, great Boyne River Brown. Istead, it's pretty much a one level flavor. Little to no hopping, a tiny bit metallic. But easily drinkable.

Pours with an amber-brown body topped by a medium thick to thick head with some lacing. The aroma is slighlty sweet and malty with a slight mustiness. The flavor is slightly sweet and malty with a slight nut note and a nice roastiness. Medium bodied, slightly tingly and a touch dry.

Aroma is faint and nutty. Flavor is party up front business back stage. Sweet upon the first taste, followed by a sour and slightly bitter finish. A decent brown ale.
