A Black Husky innovation, this double IPA is brewed with high alpha hops and locally harvested spruce tips. Like Lothar the Biter, this beer has an aggressive biting flavor with a pungent yet citrusy aroma.

Had the opportunity to have this fresh from Tim's keg in Pembine. After he showed us the source of the spruce needles (right outside the brewery) he generously poured a sampling of his pride and joy. Pours a hazy, ridiculous coloured orange. Nose is beautiful. Yeasty, floral and fresh. Taste is agressive spruce flavors, big but balanced bitterness (how do you like that alliteration?).

Alright, I admit it. I like beers that taste like Pinesol, but believe me when i say this, this one doesnt. Its got a good spruce flavor but not one with a chemically spruce flavor. This has a nice head and good lacing and layers of flavor like a good amber or layered ipa. Being a double ipa its got a nice kick too it and after their pale ale, this is my favorite.
