One of the better German Pilseners, IMO. The Bitburger used to be a small local German brand, known only by connoisseurs and "the locals". It has steadily grown to be a nationwide brand in Germany, and now also an international brand. Some say it also has become more bland and mainstream in the process, but I think it's still a fairly crisp and drinkable pils.

Can. Colour – pale gold, huge frothy white cap, decent lacing. Aroma – grains, light yeast, weak citrus, herbal hops. Mouthfeel – medium bodied, medium carbonation. Flavour – biscuit malt, a slight sweetness, followed by a weak hop finish. Inoffensive, but nothing I would recommend to friends.

Sampled on Singapore Airlines. Kind of bland in flavor, with light grain and grassy notes. Some caramel in the color and taste. Flatter feel. Average at best as far as a pilz is concerned. Think I'd prefer a Beck's. (German brewed or St. Louis brewed).

A deep gold pour, clear, with a frothy white head that you expect from a German lager. Biscuity malt, yeast, and herbal hops round out the aroma. Flavour is nicely balanced between the malt and hops, again, something you would expect from a German lager

This was a standard pilsner for me. There was nothing amazing or stand-outtish about it. Just a decent, run of the mill pilsner. I would prefer a Czech Rebel over a Bitburger.

A golden color with a white head. Aroma contains some lemons and grassy notes. The flavor is rather bitter and contains some citrus and herbal flavors. The aftertaste is a bit dry and bitter. Overall this is a decent pils, why can’t Miller Lite be THIS?

Clear yellow with small white foam head. Typical German pilsener, the "Rheinheitsgebot" makes most taste the same and somewhat flat. Little bitter. (Velp 201206)

Typical german pilsner, very clear. The foam disappeared quickly, thin tasting,a little bitter in the finish.Drank it at room temp, would be good on a hot day.

Comes out of the tap a pretty clear golden yellow, darker than most pilses I have been served, with a thick, fine-bubbled ivory head. Strong, malty aroma has an overtone of sweetish pear, almost like a cider. Crisp, malty flavor has a firm fruity note, mainly pear, and just a hint of hops. Smooth texture has good body and good fizz. Overall, a very good pilsner.

pours a light, bubbly yellow with a thin film of froth at the surface leaving nice lacing. The aroma is light hops and spice. A plant-like smell, perhaps sage of some sort. The taste is light spice and a well established body. A very satisfying taste. The aftertaste is lightly sweetened, leaving the delicious taste of plants, hops, and light malt in your mouth. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and refreshing for a summer night. A very nice consistency that does not taste watered down at all.

a typical pils in my opinion. straw yellow, little to no head. light in body, and unfortunately light in flavor as well. grassy hops and a bit of breadiness, but not a whole lot going on. Too bad, cuz it's nice, just to reserved.
