A very strong beer and the alcohol is noticeable in both the aroma and the flavour. A clouded medium gold pour with a weak white cap. The aroma is dominated by malt and yeast with the alcohol overpowering the spices and yeast. Flavour is grains and alcohol with the yeast and spices secondary.

Came as part of a Christmas gift pack with a red and a dark. The ABV is 11% but is well hidden. Unfortunately the hidden alcolhol is the best thing ab out this beer. The hazy golden pour, the yeasty aroma, and sweet malty taste are all boring.

The beer poured a hazy golden colour with a loose bubbly white head that lingers. The aroma yeast, grainy malt, and metal....although not foul smelling. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour is graint malt, light fruit, soime yeasty notes, and a bitter finish.

Very cool little bottle, but unfortunately that’s where the coolness ends (well, the label was nice). Aroma is nail polish, apple juice, and yeast. Flavor has some light bitterness, some strange off-sourness to it, apple juice, and alcohol. Really hard to finish off this bottle. Glad it was only a little stubby.

A dark golden appearance with a large white carbonated head. The flavor contains some lemons, apricots, bananas, with quite a bit of spices. The flavor contains honey, bananas, lemons, and table sugar. A spice presence in the flavor as well. This hides the alcohol really well. The mouthfeel is slightly syrupy. Overall this was a pretty good beer.

well well, a beer with a fancy smelly pirate on the label ... intresting and surprising smell, alcohol and honey and paint thinner and yeast and dull lemon ... has some nice flavours mixed with odd ones , cardboard with honey some grape ... biscuit ... a pretty tasty pirate like beer ...

Ay! Poured golden with some floaties. The Aroma contains a bouquet of fruity esters, banana-green appleish. There's a prevelant sugary sweetness that lasts through the aftertaste....... I dont so much taste the alcohol but there's a lot of yeasty activity going on. Pale malts, yet robust, Im collecting notes of citrus and honey, grassy meadows and crusty bread.... Its filling in the stomach after awhile, warming, with a smooth luxurious mouthfeel, though the rich sweetness can be cloying

Bottled (as Biere du Boucanier Golden Ale). Golden colour with a nice huge creamy white head. Aroma is banana, fruits, yeast, alcohol and barnyard. Flavour is citrus, bananas, yeast, some slight barnyard. Alcohol gives a small sweetish sting. Excellently balanced beer.

Pours a hazy orange color with a thick/pillowy two finger white head that is slow to fade, and leaves tons of thick lacing down the sides of my glass. Smell; fresh mown hay, slightly citrusy fruits, and it has a little spicy/pepper smell to it. Taste; juicy citrus fruits upfront, a hint of bananas, bread dough, and it finished with a little of that peppery bite. The alsohol is a bit more noticeable as it warms, but it doesn't really detract from the overall enjoyment of the beer. Mouthfeel is nice and full, with a rich, smooth carbonation. This goes down way to easy for it's 11% abv. I really like this beer. I wish I had picked up more than just one of these on my trip to CA.

This Belgian Strong Ale pours a deep orange gold color from a 330ml bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is fruity and sweet, banana and clove and a bunch of alcohol. A medium bodied Belgain Ale. Malts are fruity and sweet, touch of honey and bananas, mango and orange. Carbonation is sharp and short lived. Alcohol is very noticeable, sometimes dominating everything else. Touch of vanilla every once in a while. Way too much alcohol in this one. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is smooth. Aftertaste is sweet with a definite alcohol bite.
