This is a very light beer that has hints of watermelon. It is generally served in a glass or pitcher with watermelon wedge. I suggest drinkin it with the wedge it adds flavor. Overall nothing great

I love summers in Boston and going to Red Sox games. It has become a tradition of mine that every time I go to a Sox game, I stop for lunch/dinner at Boston Beerworks, located just across the street from Fenway Park. On my visit 2 years ago, they were out of one of my favorite summer brews, the Watermelon Ale. This time, it was in stock and tasting good. Watermelon Ale sounds gross, right? Well let me explain.
First off, this beer isn't a lambic as labeled here. It is a straight up fruit flavored ale, nothing more, nothing less. The beer's color is extremely light and transparent. There were some very light carbonated bubbles in there. The beer was served with a slice of watermelon hanging off the side of the glass (similar to an orange slice on a Blue Moon). The beer had no head at all. It really looks like a standard glass of Bud.
Where the Watermelon Ale gets to me is in the taste department. This is the ultimate summer brew! It is so crisp, refreshing, and drinkable that I can't get it out of my mind, especially on a hot day like today where the temperature was up around 95. Flavorwise, you are given a typical lite beer style brew with a hint of watermelon. As the beer breathes for about 5 minutes, that watermelon flavor becomes stronger and more pronounced. It really is a well crafted beer....not to sweet, yet lightly fruity. Give it a try next time you are in the area of Fenway. -
