In the Trappist monasteries an extra strong and good ale was brewed during the lent to keep the hunger at bar. The sweet drops on an empty stomach, combined with the much idle time occasionally led to less steadfast members of the order giving in to more earthly excesses. They went under the name "Malus Pater" - the bad father. With this ale inspired by the trappists you can now even do the same. And remember: God sees everything, but he doesn’t tell!

500 ml bottle, shared with Tom, at Øl & Mat-festivalen, Oslo. ABV 10%. Very dark brown colour, moderate creamy beige head. Very malty aroma and flavour, loads of caramel, notes of dark dried fruits and molasses.

Bottled@Beer Hunters, Pori. Quite much black colour, small beigeish brown head. Aroma is toffee, raisins, liquorice, some ashes, alcohol and quite strong stuff. Flavour is toffee, sweet malts, some roasted and toasted notes mild grass, some caramel and nice. Pleasant, even though will probably win on aging it a bit.
