Maple Rush is a dark and robust porter made with certified organic Ontario maple syrup, and wood-aged on Canadian maple. From spring’s running sap to fall’s changing colours, the maple tree bookends our short summers and is the perfect addition to this autumn-suited beer. History & Style: Porter beer originated in London as a beer style that attempted to bring together the best qualities of the favourite local beers. Our ‘robust’ version of this classic British ale is slightly stronger than is typical of the style. Maple Rush’s label artwork features a maple leaf forming a cottage in the woods, conjuring thoughts of Canadian sugar shacks. Tasting Notes: Maple Rush pours opaque black with a dense tan foam. The aroma is a heady mixture of black malt and espresso notes that are softened by sweet maple wood impressions. The flavour is that of robust dark malt and appetizing maple. The finish is silky, luscious and rich. INGREDIENTS Local spring water, organic barley malts, organic maple syrup, organic hops, brewer's yeast. MALTS Pale ale, chocolate, black, caramel 20 (all organic) HOPS Organic WGV (Whitbread Golding Variety) YEAST East midlands ale yeast

Bottle that pours a pretty black colour with a creamy-bubbly mocha-coloured head, great retention and creamy lacing. Dark malt aromas with the roastiness and bitter chocolate notes. Hints of herbal hops, liquorice and nuttiness. The taste is mostly roasted malts with light hops in the finish. A decently dry finish. Molasses and dark fruits flavours as well. Not really feeling the organic maple syrup, maybe because it was packaged close to 6 months ago. Not much sweetness, and that is fine. Still, a good robust porter.
