The alpha of the 8.6 pack since 1986. A strong lager made of the best of barley from our own malting house so that we can prepare and blend it exactly the way we like it. The unique fermentation process that follows punches the taste sky high. 8.6 Original is fruity with the sweetness of grain and a hinge of anise. One sip and your taste buds will instantly know what they’re made for. If you believe in individuality like an alpha, 8.6 Original is your beer.

Nice gold colour. Head is lacking, low density white foam, dissapears quickly. Looks and feels a lot like standard pilseners, yet sweeter and with a somewhat deeper malty aroma & aftertaste. Noticeable alcohol presence. I can clearly feel a not well built red wine with not nicely integrated alcohol, but this beer struck me, I liked it's overall flavor, never thought a standard light lager-looking beer could be made with this ABV and great taste. All in all, strange. Maybe I'm an alcoholic bastard after so much beer & wine tasting lol. Very drinkable, tastey, strong. I like this beer. 7.9% ABV BTW. Cheers

Dark yellow with white foam head. Aroma is dominated by alcohol smell, taste is sweet barley, little bitter, thick aftertaste. The alcohol is a kicker. (Basel 201207)

This is one of the worst malt liqours on the shelves anywhere in the world. I'm really not sure what people are thinking when they drink this. Sweet grainy malt cannot mask the overpowering alcohol.

Bottled. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is metallic, hoppy, maizeish and alcoholic. Flavour is alcohol, malts and some maize. Overly sweet thing. Good thing is it's now rated...

I wasnt a huge fan of this very alcaholic Lager from Dutch-land. It struck me as very sweet, with very little attempt to mask the taste of the alcahol. While not as terrible as the strong beer we get on this end of the Atlantic, its still quite heavy

Best before date on the bottom of the can reads 05-2007. Pours a golden-caramel colour (darker than most lagers) with a white foamy head. Carbonation is under-average and retention is not bad. Dirty lacing with a nose of cereals. Medium mouthfeel. The cereal is present in the taste as well, with some mild bitterness. Alcohol is there too, but very well blended, with no burn found. No corn in this one. Quite an interesting malt liquor that is slightly different from others.

500 ml can, from a SPAR shop in Funchal. ABV is 8.6%. Clear golden to orange colour, moderate white head. Sweetish aroma, notes of banana, a hint of soap. Moderately sweet flavour, notes of banana again. Moderate hops.

nice golden orange color, heavy and creamy head, the aroma is sweet with some malty notes, the taste is sweet-ish from the malt and the alcohol is well-hidden -

This strong lager was actually better than probably any of the others that I have tried, but it still wasnt very good. Aroma was sweet corn, appearance was that of the typical swill lager, actually had decent head retension though. Flavor was bland with some weak hops noticable, alcohol was actually not prevalent at 8.6%.
