June 2013: 500 ml bottle, from Løvbjerg, Ikast. ABV is 7.0%. Black colour, ruby in the highlights. Large beige head. The aroma is bready and moderately roasty, some fruity hints too. Pleasant and smooth flavour of moderately roasted malts, black bread, mild coffee, chocolate and caramel, but not too sweet. Very moderate hops. A beer I might well buy again.

0.5L bottle pours dark brown-ness with tall froth tan head and nice lacing. The aroma seems roasty at first with an edge of astringency. Then it becomes sweeter cut with mild burnt malts. As I dig a little deeper into the nose I get some dark fruity esters and faint chocolate malts. First impression is the flavor is just flat out nice. It hits with a bit of roastiness, malt sweetness molasses and burn malts. Then faint malt astringency appears before mild dark fruity esters and chocolate malts arrive to usher the taste toward the finish. It ends roasty, semi sweet and burnt.

Purchased at the Liquor Control Board of Ontario Store. One would think a Baltic porter brewed in a Baltic seaport would be amazeballs, but they forgot to include the Baltic Brewery because this Baltic Porter is shit. It pours a dark blackish-brown colour with a light brown head. The aroma is roasted malt, molasses, funk, and vomit. The flavour mirrors the aroma, especially the vomit, it was all I could do to get this beer down.

Smoky aroma has a strong tone of molasses, as well as a woody hint, and a fair amount of sweetness. It pours a deep opaque sable with a thick tan head that vanishes rather quickly. Flavor has tones of smoked wood, coffee and molasses. Body is on the thin side, and the fizz is only slight, so it is more like soda pop than beer. Still, an acceptable porter.

Dark brown beer on the verge of being black. Of the aroma of cold coffee with the smell of malt and nuts mixed in. This is a pretty average porter because it stayed bitter all the way to the finish.

Black with light brown foam head, bit lacing. Aroma is bit weak, some caramel, some liquorize. Taste bit to sweet for this color, sugary syrup, some bitterness. Short bitter aftertaste. (Wakefield 201010)

Pours a dark chocolate brown with a nice sized head to it. Aroma is og chocolate with a small hint of coffee mixed in. Taste is full bodied with a slightly metalic aftertaste that lingers for only a second or two. Best Russian beer so far, in fact it is the only Russian beer worth drinking more than once. Well done.

Rather light on mouthfeel and flavor for a Baltic porter but still easy drinking and a good taste. Looks good in the glass, rich clear darkness with a thick head. Some smokey notes with heavy malt character.

A so-so porter, although better than I would expect being an Eastern European beer. A black coloured beer with a tan coloured head, which disappears after a minute or two. Aroma was very malty with some caramel going along with the roast. Flavour is quite malty as well, although there are hints of caramel to break up the bitterness.
