Pours beautiful dark amber with a thick and fluffy pale buff head. Strong aroma is quite hoppy, resiny, with fruity hints. Bold flavor charges fierce hops across the tongue, resiny and evergreen, somewhat bitter, subtly malty and fruity, with just a whisper of honey. Texture is firm and smooth, going down well, if not too fizzy; finish is evergreen hoppy and a little fruity. Glad that I finally caught one!

Nice golden colour without much head or lace. Pine and alcohol aroma. Medium/full well carbonated mouthfeel. Very tasty flavour of pine, grapefruit, orange and grass. A malt sweetness takes a backseat to compliment the hop bitterness. Long, long lasting finish.

I had this on tap at the Barrel Chest in Roanoke, VA. While this beer was good, it was a tad on the malty side for me. While Ballast Point killed it ... again ... I think I much prefer the Sculpin, Big Eye, and Fathom brands over the Dorado. I know this is a 2xIPA, however, the hop bill didn't kill it for me like the others. That being said, it is still a very nice beer. I wouldn't kick her out of bed.

22 oz bottle. Pours slightly hazy copper gold with a big frothy white head that retains well and laces the glass a little.
The aroma is subdued - some sweet malt and stinky hops.
The flavor is sweet soapy malts with some old fruit and a big harsh resiny bitter finish that lingers. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation.
Overall, a big hop bomb with harsh resiny stinky hops. -

A bright orange sunshine colored beer with a big frothy textured, off white head rising above. There's good hang time on the head. It settles eventually into thick fluffs of film aside the glass and ringlet atop the body. Nose is hoppy. The general profile is of pine, citric and floral hops all pleasantly refreshing. Light, crisp.

Pours a slightly hazy yellow with a foamy off-white head that settles to a small cap on top of the beer. Foamy streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of citrus zest, citrus fruit, and some nice tropical fruit aromas. The aromas were nice but faint. Taste is much the same with a light malt finish. There is a somewhat high hop bitterness on the palate that lingers after each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a relly nice IIPA, worth a try.

This poured a copper color with a white head. The aroma contains perfume, pine, oranges, and lemons. The flavor is bitter but has a solid malt presence as well. There is some bitterness with oranges and lemons in the flavor. There is a slight tropical fruit thing going on at the end. Overall a good IPA.

Bottled. Hazy amber colour, mediumsized head. Aroma is fruity and flowery hops along with some wood. Flavour is pineapple, peach and some mild flowery notes to balance it up. Long wooden bitterness in the aftertaste along with some mild sweetish fruits.

a little too sticky and malt heavy to be great, as the malt muted the hops a little too much for my personal taste. that said, it was quite good, just as a change of pace. i'd take a sculpin in a heartbeat before this darker, heavier brew. 8/12 - musta got an old bottle - on tap it's faaaantastic! 3.8 to 4.2 or higher!

Bottle from Swolf I think. The pour was godlen with lots of carbonation, steady bubbles rising to the top. The aroma was caramel and resinous. The flavor was caramel, resinous, teabags, piney hops. Mouthfeel was a moderate body, some dryness in the finish, but malt balance definitely present.
