This dangerously drinkable garnet beauty is a hop lover's delight. The intense dry-hop nose and the alcohol content are perfectly balanced for a caramel candy-like malt finish. This is a serious beer for serious beer afficianados and it only gets better with age. Cellarable for 3 years.

Alternate description from the bottle: Yep, you're in Hog Heaven! An unbelievably huge explosion of sweet malt tempered by 9.2% ABV and 2-1/2 pounds per barrel of Columbus dry hops. OINK!

The beer pours a slightly hazed rust color, effervescence is high, and the off-white cap is rocky. Lots of dark fruit and burnt sugar in the aroma, coupled with hints of pine, citrus, and alcohol. Mouthfeel is average. Flavor is all over the place with hints of plums, grapefruit, fresh bread, and wet grass. A decent beer for the style.

With a cold, damp evening approaching tonight I found myself craving a barleywine tonight and picked this one up. Pours a clear reddish brown color with a foamy tan head. Uneven, clinging lacing abounds. Aromas of dates, figs, raisins, sweet malt with a hint of earthy hops. Dates, prunes, figs, raisins and caramel on the tongue. Hops show up on the finish drying my palate. Full, thick mouthfeel. A bit of a boozy taste when cold, but mellows as the beer warms. About two-thirds through the booze starts to hit. I've got a shit eating grin as I finish this review and the beer. A very nice winter warmer.

Pours a beautiful deep orange with a small light tan head and has a good amount of sediment and leaves some nice lacing on the glass. The aroma is an earthy aroma from the hops up front and sweet malt along with honey. The tastes has a nice bitter flavor that is balanced with some sweetness and has some nice caramelized and honey like flavors to go with a nice hop bite. The mouthfeel is medium mouthfeel with little carbonation. Well balanced and tasty all the way through.

Another KnoxBeerCrew Barleywine, this one hoppier than the last English version. Brown pour, short tan head, little lacing. Big earthy hops meet ton 'o malts aroma. Big and impressive. Flavor is hopped considerably, earthy, lightly pined, huge malt presence, caramel, chewy and big. Very nice indeed. And big, very big.

Borderline Top 10 barleywine, but solid nonetheless. Has some hop to it....not quite as bitter and citrusy as a DIPA. For 9.2% (lower end of barleywines), would expect to be slightly smoother with less alchohol bite. Nice to try new samples in this style, but tough to beat a good Old Stock.

Nice aromas of citrus and floral hops upfront, with a bit toasted malts poking through. Deep tan/ copper body, the head is thin but leaves some decent lacing. Flavor leans toward grapefruit, pine and citrus hops, the sweet malts bring a nice balance to it. Overall a very nice B-wine, tasty, big, hoppy, not overly sweet, a winner.

This is a very good looking beer, very nice blend of orange and ruby with a nice thick head. The aroma is candied, fruity hops and malty plums. The taste is kind of mellow malts with a good hint of hops. With the alcohol content of this beer and how easy it is to drink this could be dangerous.

I've always loved this barleywine. The aroma is super hoppy with just enough malt to let you know it's there. Very nice copper color with a thick white foamy head. The flavor is just right on point, super hoppy with deep malty-alcoholy finish. Good good stuff!

A weak barleywine that didn't really do anything for me. A dark reddish brown pour with a thick hyead. The aroma is dark malt and fruit. The flavour was malty, with a bit of an alcohol bite.

Has a strong, rather fruity aroma with a little bit of an alcohol nip. Color is a clear dark amber brown with a thick and large-bubbled head. Flavor is fruity and has a strong bitter undertone; the alcohol bite is quite noticeable. It is nice and smooth, very drinkable, but better sipped since it is a "high-gravity" beer.
