Deep brown and opaque with enticing coffee aromas. Rich and creamy with a medium body and bold coffee flavors balanced by subtle, chocolate and toffee notes. A great beer is more than just the sum of its parts but even the best beers are only as good as the ingredients that go into them. That’s why we use 100% fair trade coffee locally roasted and ground to order by our friends at the Ugly Mug small batch artisan roastery. Espresso Love is a decadent brew that combines our creamy, hand-crafted oatmeal stout with fresh-ground, dark-roast, cold-brewed coffee for a bold coffee flavor without the bitter acids. The result is a rich yet delicate brew with a great espresso flavor, soft earthy notes, and hints of dark chocolate. It weighs in at 6.5% but its balanced flavors and drinkability make it a year-round treat.

How do I hate thee? Let me count the ways. What an absolute abomonation of a beer. How can a brewer take something so beautiful, which is a coffee infused stout, and crank out something so obscenely awful and distasteful it's embarrassing? Not sure exactly, but that's exactly what was found lurking inside this bottle.
If the show started and stopped with just smelling the beer, I think everything would be rosey. A nice choco/mocha nose with a touch of black walnuts. Perhaps I should have been concerned with the eruptive head that appeared with this beer. Very large, 4-5 inches thick with a color of dark biege with medium sized bubbles. First sip and it was all over. It's like someone figured out a way to melt sweet tarts and dump a gallon or two into the fermenter, because tart and acidic was exactly what this was. Sure, there was some underlying coffee notes but this was no espresso love. This was infected love and quite nasty at that. Embarrassing was the word, because I shared this with 4 other guys and they both looked at me like I had snakes coming out my nose after I explained to them about coffee stouts. Just plain awful. -

12 oz bottle. Pours a dark brown with a creamy light tan head (after a vigorous pour) that quickly diminishes to a thin collar that leaves some lacing.
The aroma is sweet fudgy chocolate and coffee that are strong enough to hide some off-notes that seem to be hiding.
The flavor is sweet fudgy chocolate and some oatmeal and nuts followed by an acidic stale coffee. The mouthfeel is thin and watery with little carbonation.
Overall, it's not very complex and does have some flaws but is still enjoyable.
