From the first sip of Winter Solstice Seasonal Ale , your senses will be aroused with the vision of a glowing fire, warming the hearth and home, as gently drifting snow flakes silently blanket the trees outside. Each lingering sip will gently warm your soul with thoughts of family and friends, gathering around the table for the feast. Luscious, creamy, smooth, and warming, this medium bodied ale is brewed with Caramel and crystal malts to give it just a hint of sweetness, then paired with our private blend of holiday spice. Winter Solstice Ale is great alone or as an accompaniment to any meal, and it has been known to liven and spice up nearly any social event. This coveted and much sought-after brew is released in November, just in time for the holidays, and by the first of the New Year will be only a fond memory. As with all of our products, Winter Solstice Seasonal Ale is never sterile filtered nor heat pasteurized, and should be stored in refrigeration. However, to fully enjoy its rich and complex flavor, it should be served between 40° and 45°F

This is a ok beer but nothing special. Especially compared to many of the other Christmas beers I’ve enjoyed. One thing I enjoyed was the antlers on the bear pictured on the can.

355 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.9%. Brown colour, large off-white head. Nice aroma of malts (including some caramel) and mild spices, including cinnamon. Also some fruity notes (blackcurrants and ripe blackberries). None of the aroma elements are overdone. The flavour is first fruity (hints of blackcurrants and blackberries again) and malty with some caramel, but not too sweet. The Christmas spices come through more distinctly, but not sharp. The bittering hops are very moderate (too moderate for my taste), probably making the beer palatable for people who don’t fancy AVBC’s hoppier beers. Easy drinking, and does not taste as strong as it is.

pours a copper to brown with small head & almost no lace. The aroma is spicy with a hint of vanilla, nothing too strong - malt, maybe cinnamon/allspice? The taste is smooth over the tongue, slightly malty, caramel but creamy. The mouth feel has a pleasant dry caramel aftertaste with more pronounced spice notes, medium bodied.

Exceptional brew, the color and foam was done nicely. The aroma was inviting, and the flavors were outstanding too.The hints of licorice, all spice and cinnamon came through very good. Seemed to be a pretty good mix of ingredients.

Pours a cloudy copper color with an orange cream colored head that goes at a decent pace. Aroma is very bready and malty, I can smell the beer in full a couple feet away. Lacing is very consistent and full. Taste is very creamy and full of sweet bread. Taste has that distinctive hit of what can only be described at cookie dough. Aftertaste is sticky and very sweet. It is very odd in a good way. Very good beer.

From cans: deep amber pour, very slight murkiness, tall near-white head, ample lacing throughout. Pleasant aromas of caramel malts, toffee, very light Holiday spices, earthy hops. Creamy mouthfeel, smooth. Taste is malty sweet, caramel and toffee and a bit of breadiness, very very slight Holiday / Christmas spices, vanilla, light earthy hops. Nice smooth Holiday-ish brew. Thanks Sam for bringing these up from the ATL. Tasty critters.

Dark amber color with a white head. The aroma contains mostly strong citrus and spices. The flavor contains some orange, perfume, brandyish flavors, and candy sugar. Some chocolate notes present. Palate is a bit thin considering. Overall a nice beer.

Aroma is not strong but has spicy and malty hints. Pours a clear, dark mahogany with a thick and fluffy buff head. Hearty flavor has malty, gingerbread and honey notes, sweet but subtle, hints of cloves and cocoa, very tasty and very much the Winter Holidays! (Bleep Christmas - I celebrate the Winter Solstice!) Texture has good body and plenty of fizz, and a dusty gingerbread hint. Happy whatever-the-heck-you-celebrate-in-December!

A little too sweet for me, but a good representation for the style. Pretty much a spicy brown ale. Light to medium brown appearance. Caramel malt, little bit of hop....not the best balance but decent. Got for half off on clearance (it is almost summer here already!), so I would say it is worth that for the buzz it gives. Forgetable though and not something I would seek again.

Overall the whole experience was like honey. The beer pours thick and amber and very hazy which looks very much like unfiltered honey. The smell and flavor are almost the same, very candy-like sweetness with not much bitterness and some spice notes. Very easy to drink but I don't think I could do more than one at a time.
