Our Blood Orange Gose is a tart, refreshing wheat ale that is kettle-soured with lactobacillus and brewed with sea salt and coriander. However, unlike traditional versions of the style, ours features liberal additions of blood oranges during fermentation. This imparts tangy citrus notes that complement the champagne-like flavors, creating a complex and sessionable ale perfect for any occasion. FOOD PAIRINGS: Smoked Salmon, Oysters, Pad Thai, Bitter Greens (Arugula, Mizuna) GLASSWARE: Stange, Pint glass ALC/VOL: 4.2% MALTS: Pale Two-Row, Malted White Wheat HOPS: Bravo

Very hazy orange with a quick fading head. This beer wastes no time delivering flavor to the senses. A shockwave of tart, sweet orange hits fast. Not like anything I've had before and totally unlike a gose I had a few days ago. Much less salt and funk, though the saltiness does come forward more as it warms. Easy to drink. I like it.

I had this on draft at Beamer's in Roanoke, VA. This is the second gose I've had. This was another sour beer with a wheat base. There was some funkiness, but the dominant flavor was citrus. I'd have this again.

12 oz can. Pours slightly hazy orange yellow with a big fizzy white head that quickly goes to a thin collar and then disappears completely.
The aroma is wheat malts and lots of tart sweet orange and very slight butyric acid.
The flavor is tart/sour and sweet orange. Lots of sour citrus with a little salt in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation.
Overall, lots of sweet and tart orange. It's nice. -

A bright golden colored beer with a moderate loose bubbled, frothy textured, white head rising above. The head's hang time is short lived. Not much lacing. A sour nose. A tartness fronts but is followed by the sweetness of oranges. Effervescent

I think I like their original gose better. This one is heavy on the orange, and with the super-strong fizz/carbonation, it becomes too much like orange soda. Don't get me wrong, I like Sunkist, just prefer it for soda and not beer. This still preserves that salty and sour/tart characteristics of the style. Overall a good beer with good flavor, so the rating is decent...just a little downgraded because of the feel.
