Very pale clear yellow color, little white foam. Dissapearing quickly, low carbonated, not too bitter. A regular mass production beer. Good for drinking when hot and thirsty. (Velp 201202)

This beer is mass produced. It lacks a distinguishing style to be called special or anything but average. This beer is perfect for going out. It drinks easily. The brewery just celebrated it's 140th birthday.

Hilarious - this beer can't be obtained in the states (as far as I know) and low and behold, I found it in Paris. I was hoping for it to taste different than the Light - it didn't - it is EXACTLY the same! This beer gets romance points for me because I had it at a small cafe in Paris.

Going off of memory on this one, Grassy malts, faint spice, and Dutch skunkiness, in both aroma and flavor. Standard yellow body, with standard fizzy white cap, nothing terribly special, I prefer the light version to this one

A fairly typical, lighter than usua, European Lager; this doesn't even present a better alternative to the Castle Lager or Windhoek here in Botswana. Body is a lightly carbonates yellow gold with a skimpy disappearing white head. Cornbread yeasty nose, firm smooth mouthfeel, non-offensive but non-descript grainy malt and light hop flavors.

I've always quite liked Amstel it's a typical Dutch lager , golden in coluor with a nice foamy head , sweeter than Heineken or Grolsch , it's nowt exciting but easily drinkable .

Had two of these at CDG last week while waiting for my flight home, hence the rude airport prices. This beer produced aboaut two fingers of frothy white head on top of a bright gold body, and the head did have some good retention. Aroma was mildly hopped and a bit floral. Taste was certainly sweeter than Heineken, and not unpleasant although by no means outstanding. Mouth and finish were acceptable. An inoffensive and refreshing beer.

There is not one characteristic of this beer that stands out. It is bland in every respect. I actually prefer some of the really cheap beers to this one. Nothing special at all.

I go back with this review, but have some fond memories of the swill that got me through two years in Southern Africa. A Dutch beer that was the Bud (swill) of my youthful Peace Corp days.

Pretty typical, bland and watered down. Pours a bright coloured golden with a small thin white head. Taste is of corn, grain and pears. Aroma is of corn also. Noticeably over malted and watered down.
