It was cheap, which explains a lot. I believe it to be one of the worse beers i have ever had. Ranks right up there with Milwaukee's best (or as i call it Milwaukee's worst. My advise chug this beer or use for beer pong etc.

oh boy- bad beer. might as well stick a "no frills" white label on this and just name it "BEER". really no redeeming quality to this, unless you are young, broke, and looking to get tanked....and then i'd still try to talk you into buying something else.

12 oz can that proudly states it’s purpose. I love these Pittsburgh Brews that have the superlatives on them. Pop the lid for a yeasty beery aroma backed with metallic hints. Ubiquitous pale yellow american beer color - no kidding. The taste is a little more forward than I’m used to with good lagers. The American light seems to be a better, more well behaved brew. Some bitter hints and I’m not sure if it is malt, hops or whatever. Finish is a bit industrial and come to think of it, a little like Iron City. Nice carbonation. Much better tasting than Big City Ice. Not bad for an economy beer. They should put this stuff in bottles and ship it across the United States to the Mexican Border. Overall, OK for an economy beer but there are others out there for about the same price that taste much better. It’s sister beers Light Brigade and old German is the same price and much more palatable.

Not only is cheaper than most normally false-society proclaimed "white trash" brew, American has its own distinct sting to it giving it a different feel than most other beers. Much like how teens discourage dark ale beer due to the "acquired" and "progressive" taste, American beer is like giving wine or coffee to a preschooler, you have to have some sort of knowledge about beer to enjoy it, and if not, then maybe you should stick to soda-pop

Well i know what beer is good and what beer sucks. Like that shitty dark beer sucks compared to american. it just has that taste that can make your day or night. it only comes in 12 packs but thats my favorite kind. the graphic on the can is way better than all the other beers out there. to put it plain and simple for people who gave my favorite beer a bad rating, if you dont like american beer then i guess you dont like to get drunk.

This was very much your basic cheap brew light in color taste and aroma high on carbonation. It works on a hot day after mowing the yard but that is about it. I tried it. It was very poor and not a good value for what you got compared to what you paid. It all come down to one statement. Drink less drink better.

Much like every person I know that has drank American Beer, I throroughly enjoy it's rich American taste. It's label says it all, "American Beer is Quality Brewed to Capture the Spirit and Strength of America". I mean, that's what I'm talkin about. I drink it every night I'm in Denver every time I go there no matter what. It's really fucking great, I hope they begin selling it all over America, to really "Capture the Spirit and Strength of America" to the fullest.

While American Beer might lack any necessary quality to make it 'taste good' or 'not make you feel like throwing up,' I think it's a very fine beer in comparison to all the other 6 dollar 12 packs out there. While it's brewed in Pennsylvania, I've never been there and have only found it in Denver, CO which also gives it a certain mystique. I'll admit I'm the same guy who only drinks Old Style while in Chicago, but damn, did you look at the can? "Brewed with the strength and quality of America," if you know your beer's going to suck, then it better say something cool like that.

$8.50 per case...thats after tax. The review could end there and you would still probably know exactly what to expect from this beer. Has your typical American swill appearance, mouthfeel and aroma. However it does have some faint bitter hoppynees in the aftertaste, the bottom line is that this beer is dirt cheap and just as, if not more tolerable than Natural, Blatz, Busch, Milwaukees Best or Keystone.
