November 2012: 500 ml bottle, batch # 506, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.2%. Black colour, moderate tan head. Moderate aroma of roasted malts, some fruity hints, also hints of woodwork and ashes. Fizzy mouthfeel. Dry and roasty flavour., notes of coffee and woodwork. A bit too dry for me to give a "top mark". Roasty and bitter aftertaste.

Dark brown colour with copper highlights. Nice frothy-creamy, long-lasting beige cap with full lacing. Aromas of mild roasted malts with hints of vanilla, coffee and chocolate. The taste is hop over the roasted malts. Oily-watery mouthfeel and medium-bodied. Decent bitterness overall. Straight out stout with a little more hop than usual.

Enjoyable breakfast stout. Flavour has a dark chocolate, licorice, coffee, cocoa. Sweet start and a slightly bitter finish. Initial pour looks good but doesn't last long enough. Medium mouthfeel. Roasted malt and coffee aroma.

The beer pours a solid black colour with a thin creamy brown head. The aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, and floral hops. The aroma is medium-full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is dark chocolate. coffee, roasted malt, and a hoppy bitterness.

Aroma is rich, smoky, oily and a little woody with a firm overtone of molasses and a hint of chocolate. It pours a deep opaque sable, like any good stout, with a fairly thick dark tan head, and leaves substantial lacing. Flavor is smoky with tones of molasses, unsweet chocolate and charred wood. Texture is fairly smooth with a nice fizz, leaving a smoky and subtly tingly finish.

Bottle: Poured a deep black color stout with a large dirty brown color head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light roasted notes with light lactic notes also discernable. Taste is also a nice enough mix between some roasted malt with some black chocolate notes and a creamy mouth feel. Full body with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Overall I thought this was OK but somehow lacking character.

Bottled. Black colour with mediumsized brown head, which vanishes quite fast though. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, hops and roasted malts along with mild caramel and nuts. Flavour is nuts, roasted malts, smoked wet wood, coffee and some slight chocolate. Leaves nice burnt wet wood in aftertaste. Pleasant.

black colour with arich light-brown head. Aromatic hoppy aroma of pine-needles and flowers with dense undertones of burnt malts, smoke and black chocolate. Burnt malts, black coffee and dark chocolate behind a curtain of sappy piney and flowery hops in the flavour. Medium to full-bodied. Long finish of black chocolate, mint, grapefruit and sweet flowery hops.
