Throw off the darkness, make merry and bid the light welcome! That is the simple message in our Spring IPA "Kåååd" (Frisky). Not many people know this, but there is a whole herd of beef cattle being raised in a secret Amager location on the spent grain from our beer production. This cattle herd, surely the happiest in the world, had barely tasted the grain from this very beer, before they let out a celebratory MUUH so loud that it could be heard all the way to downtown Copenhagen. The ensuing merriment in the herd caused a Stampede greater than any seen in Calgary in July. But one thing is for sure: If you, dear hophead, partake of this brew, you will become as frisky as our happy heifers as soon as you catch a whiff of the aromatic hops that we have jam-packed into "Kåååd". Have a merry old spring - and don’t do anything we, or the happy cattle, wouldn’t do...

500 ml bottle, will soon be available at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Will later also be available there on tap. Batch #595, ABV is 6.0%. Hazy golden colour, large white head. Attractive aroma of fruity American hops, also notes of spruce. The medium dry flavour is dominated by American hops throughout, fruity first, then resinous, and with a sharp bitterness in the finish and aftertaste.

Pours a fair size of frothy creamy white head and has a hazy golden orangey appearance. Dirty lacing. Aromas of citrus and floral hops, a bit grainy. Flavours are mainly citrus hops, some oranges, grassy hops, yeasty notes. Quite fruity. Medium/full bodied mouthfeel. Slick and creamy sensation, a little bit of bitterness on the palate. Nice and smooth.

Second one from this brewery at the LCBO. Pours a very slight hazy, golden-amber colour with a big frothy warm cap, great retention and some bubbly lacing. Tangerine fruity aromas with citrus zest bitterness. Refreshing mouthfeel, not too heavy with just enough dryness in the finish. The bitterness in the taste grows stronger as you sip this one. Flavours started off really mild, but getting there. Maybe that is why this call this one a Spring IPA, as it is easier to get into the IPAs, after having some darker ones for the winter. Pretty good overall.

Purchased at Liquor Control Board of Ontario store. This is one strange India Pale Ale. It pours a cloudy golden amber colour with almost no head. The aroma is very grainly with hints of light fruit and citrusy hops. The flavour is closer to that of an IPA with a very hop-forward grapefruit flavour, followed by notes of light fruits and grains.

The beer pours a hazed golden colour with a bubbly light tan coloured head. Aroma is light citrus, grapefruit, and grains. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is light grapefruit, juicy fruit, and grains. Good and refreshing.
