500ml flip top bottle. A cola brown body, clear with a sudsy off-white head with zero retention. Aroma is sweet, with a subtle roasted note and damp grain. Flavor is a bland mix of malt, wet paper, earthy hops and light caramel. Forgettable.

Pours the color of really dark tea. The carbonation is fine, but the head is hard to form, although what does form does have decent lasting power. The aroma is clean and malty. The body has a bit of caramel, and something that's making me think of charcoal, although I wouldn't describe it as being burt, something else in the character of charcoal is in here. The hops are present but only lightly and provide a subtle spiciness. I think my bottle was a bit old as it had a flavor that I've come to associate with old beer (maybe it's oxidation, but it tastes nothing like wet cardboard to me, nor like a skunk). Fairly easy drinking and not bad for a dark lager.

red-brown colour, absolutely no head, the aroma is malty, buttery, light toasted with notes of alcohol, the flavour is sweet and flat followed by a very short aftertaste - disappointing

This is a bit of change of pace for me. Something about a beer being a "sweet lager" goes against my normal "bitter ale" mindset. But this beer caught my eye, with the swing-top and the funky bottle shape (complete with a handle built into the glass itself). And, in retrospect, I'm not at all sorry for having tried this.
Poured this into my 16-oz Heineken glass ("borrowed" from the Seamen's Center in Jebel Ali, in the United Arab Emirates), where a nice well-bahaved head of foam rose out of the dark, rustic-looking body. The fact that the head of foam stuck around for most of the time, and produced a fair amount lacing, is always a good thing, IMO.
Definately cut above the rest, with both the aroma and the flavor profile making sure you know who's the boss here. Definate "woodsy" undertones, that seem to highlight the well-defined malt-bill. Not bitterness to speak of, which is fine for this style, though I suspect that at least some hops were used later on in the boil, to give this an extra level of complexity.
I enjoyed drinking this -- yes, even if I'm a diehard hophead/ale-drinker. This was a nice change of pace, and certianly worth a try. If nothing else, you won't see this type of bottle too often...

Dark amber color. Medium head. Aroma is brown sugar, malts and fruit. A medium bodied dunkel. Malts are roasty, nutty and sweet. Mild hops. Touch of spiciness. Nicely balanced. I mainly bought this beer for the fancy Santa bottle, but it was a definitely drinkable beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

The aroma is very malty and has some sweetness as well as spice. The appearance is very nice and creamy with some sediment floating and is a very dark, rich reddish amber in color with a decent head that discipates to only lacing that sticks to the glass. The mouthfeel is light to medium in body and has very malty complexity and balance. The flavor is extremely malty and pretty good with some yeast and spice prevalent and has a earthy-like aftertaste that lingers on the pallet and coats it very well. Overall, not too terribly bad but not my favorite style either but, nonetheless, it is not too bad and pretty filling and decently refreshing. Finally, the bottle is very interesting and different.

Faintly fruity/bready aroma, clear reddish-brown appearance with little head, and flavor of roasted malts and fruit -- very thin. The bottle kicks ass!

Aroma is chocolate and caramel. Apperance is brown with a nice head. Flavor is chocolate, caramel, and nutmeg with a slight bitterness. Palate is a little watery. I haven't had many Dunkels but so far I enjoy the style and this is no exception
