This bottle may have been old....probably was since got on clearance, and the flavor just didn't seem right. Off-balanced....too sweet with a tart finish. Towards the end, it seemed like it had some ok flavor in there...like fruity semi-Belgian traits...but I just couldn't get into it. Could use some more carbonation, mouthfeel was a bit on the flat side. A lower than average brown ale. Been curious to try Alexander Keith, but this was not the best first sample.

It pours a dark brown with some red mixed in and a thin light-tan head and some strands of lacing. An aroma of roasted malts, light hops, citrus, some nuttiness, bread and yeast, and light spices. The mouthfeel is smooth and quite rich. Flavors of roasted malts, hops, citrus, nuttiness, bready, cola, and spices. It's flavorful and pretty good.

A deep brown-amber colored beer witha medium sized, frothy textured, off white head rising above. There's some hang time. It settles into a medium sized soapy ringlet and light dusting of film. A light nose of biscuit. A bolder tasting of Sweet malt and some nutiness. A rich full body, with creamy smoothness rounds out this one.
