This beer is a hoppy red ale that uses German Rye, and dark Carafa, along with some great English caramel malts. The hopping is strait forward California style! This beer is 5.75% ABV.

interesting beer...seemed casked though it was not. had it with a hearty breakfast. cloudy brown, great interplay with the ample hops, spicy rye, and sweet malt. intruiging beer, makes me want more of there stuff. not as good in the bottle (3.9-4 on tap, 3.5 or so bottled).

Ale Industries Rye’d Piper Tasted on tap at the Bistro 12th Annual IPA Festival on 8/8/09. This IPA pours a medium amber color. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is caramel, fruity, sweet, with a touch of hops. A medium bodied IPA. The malts are caramel and sweet. The hops are floral. There is a touch of spiciness from the rye. Seems to add a little fullness to the mouthfeel as well. Mild to medium bitterness. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
