Nothing special here, but fairly drinkable. The appearance yielded a nice golden yellow pour, a thin initial head with plenty of retention and ability to rekick it with a swirl here or there. The aroma was skunky grassy to start out of the bottle, but turned more toward a honey and grassy hint, lots of pils type malt aromas. Flavor followed suit, much less hopped than a pils with some malt support. Finishes a little bit on that honey sweet side to be excellent, but decent, highly drinkable (crisp lawn mowing beer). Mouthfeel was light, somewhat malty sticky for the style, highly carbonated.

Light gold color. Medium head. Aroma is mildly malty, mildly floral and yeasty. A light bodied Dort/Hell. Malts are mild. Hops are mild. Flavor is mild. A mild beer, not anything bad to say, but not much else to say. It light and refreshing and has somewhat more flavor than water. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is dry, clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Ok, this is one of my beirs, so I am biased. I have been to Aktein, and the Helles is a fine excample of the style. 4.9abv, a bit sweet in the finish, a fine helles. Wholesales for 30.50 per 20, now you know how bad your retailer is sticking you! A better helles Edel, 5.9abv is also brewed by Aktien. Kaufburen is the town, don't miss it.
