The Gateway Smoked Porter: our easy-drinking and savoury introduction to the wonderful world of smoked beers. Smoked beer is a traditional yet unique style that harkens back to the days when all malt was dried over an open flame and all beer tasted like smoke. With a distinctive flavour and aroma, smoked beers can be an acquired taste as the degree of smokiness can range from intense to barely noticeable. Ours is on the approachable side, with a medium to full bodied porter whose chocolate and coffee notes give way to a smooth but subtle smokey finish.
