On tap at Bier Markt, Toronto. Pours a fait size frothy brownish head but doesn't stay very long. Weak lacing. Dark brown appearance. Aromas of roasted malt, notes of herbal hops and coffee. Flavours of dark roasted malts, dry fruits (raisins, dates). Licorice flavours in the finish. Average carbonation and retention. Somewhat disappointing but still enjoyable.

This beer pours a solid dark brown with reddish hues. The head is light brown and lasts quite a while. The aroma is dark malts, some caramel and toffee notes. The flavour is slightly sweet with some brown sugar and coffee coming through.

The beer poured an opaque dark brown with a medium sized, bubbly light-brown head. The aroma was dark malt, yeast, caramel, and plums. The mouthfeel was medium to full bodied, with medium carbonation. The flavour was sweet malt, some caramel, and a nice bitter finish. -

330 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.3%. Very dark brown colour, big beige head. The aroma has some unpleasant notes of stale chocolate and stale berries, also notes of anise. The flavour is moderately sweet and slightly fruity with notes of anise and malts. The anise seems entirely misplaced in a dubbel. This is not a beer for me.

Bottled. Pitch black (extremely dark brown) opaque with small bubbly beige head. Chocolate, caramel and a bit roasted malts in the aroma. Flavour is plum, licorace. caramel and sugar. Some minor roasted notes also there. A bit biting carbonation. Wellbalanced and good brew.

A very tasty double with magnificent mouthfeel. A typical brown appearence and expected aroma which was nothing too bold. Various flavours were present, above all an excellent caramelized malt in the mouthfeel. Very good balance and choice of malts. The beer is pieced together well with no aspect left behind. One I enjoyed a lot.

Bottle (at room temp): Poured a cloudy deep brown color ale with a super huge head with perfect retention. Aroma of caramel malt with distinctive Belgian yeast. Taste is a well balance mix between sweetness, strong malt with a nice touch of caramel and some subtle sourness with light funky yeast. Body is a bit thin for the style but overall this is a very nice dubbel.

Near opaque, dark reddish brown, with a large beige head. Fresh, yeasty aroma with malt, brown sugar and caramel. Fruity taste with coriander, chocolate, roasted malts; sweet and slight sour finish. Quite highly carbonated with a foamy, medium mouthfeel. Good stuff.
