176 Mille-Îles / Maltstrom Porter Baltique Canada Baltic Porter 3.7

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7

Clean brown colour, darker amber with ruby highlights. A nice frothy-bubbly light mocha-coloured head, good retention and some creamy-streaky lacing. Roasted malt aromas on the mild side with some dark fruit notes, hops and hints of coffee-molasses. A smooth, silky mouthfeel with a decent building, drying finish. Again, mild roasted barley flavours with a tad coffee, dark fruits and molasses. An easy-drinking Baltic Porter and good collaboration.

177 Ruisseau Noir Rousse Ale Canada Amber Ale 3.7

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 8

Mildly hazed, darker amber colour with some golden highlights. A light beige, frothy head, decent stay and some nice waves of creamy lacing. Fruity malts with some berry notes over the caramel malts. The taste continues with the fruitiness, mild nuttiness and a nice blend between the hops, cutting the caramel malt sweetness. A nice, kind of refreshing Rousse that is going down well.

178 Siboire Trip d’Automne III Canada Abbey Tripel 4.2

Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 9

Lightly hazed-unfiltered, bright yellow colour with a big creamyish white head, good retention and full lacing. Lemon aromas with blended herbal notes and beautiful Belgian yeast. This continues into the flavours. Tiny particles like spices floating around and very nice carbonation. Quite a nice stronger beer, that blends beautiful herbal notes, mild lemon zest-sourness and Belgian yeast spiciness. P.S. This is the regular version available (not III which is retired).

179 Ruisseau Noir Porter Baltique Canada Baltic Porter 3.7

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 8

Last can at the Chelsea IGA, pouring a dark brown colour with ruby-copper highlights. The head is big, mocha-coloured, long lasting and leaving thick foamy lacing. Roasted barley aromas with some dark fruit notes, hints of chocolate, molasses and coffee. The mouthfeel is quite smooth, not too thick and with a drying finish. Roasted malt flavours that are milder, well-balanced with the alcohol and a tad burnt wood lingering. Some good bitterness from all of those hops. Chunky particles fall to the bottom of the glass near last pour. A real easy-drinking Baltic Porter, will all-blended notes that does the job.

180 Brasserie du Bas-Canada / Superflux Acolytes Canada IPA 3.8

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 8

Hazy golden colour with an orange hue, a whitish frothy head, good stay and full, thick soapy lacing. Big grassy aromas at first, but after breathing a bit, the citrus notes come out. Juicy mouthfeel with some watermelon touch that blends with the rest of the citrus, tropical fruit juices. Some fresh herbal touch lingers. All of this, nicely balanced and easy to drink. Particles fall to the bottom of the glass. Not a bad collaboration, hazy, juicy IPA with some different hops.

181 Sir John Tercel Verte Canada Imperial IPA 4.2

Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 9

Hazy golden-orange colour with a frothy white cap, good retention and thick creamy-foamy lacing. Citrus zest, juices with nicely blended grassiness, bitterness and alcohol. A nice juicy mouthfeel with just enough dryness in the finish. Hints of tart, leaves left on the tongue. Good orange notes in the taste with again, balance bitterness-grassiness and fine warming alcohol. Such a beautiful, very strong IPA that is quite juicy with a touch of warmness. Even getting some Nelson Sauvin as it breathes, which I do like a lot.

182 Kichesippi Sasquatch Schnitzel Canada Vienna / Amber Lager 3.4

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7

Pours a clean light amber colour with some golden highlights. A warm off-white, frothy head, decent stay and some light lacing. Caramel malt aromas with some cereal grain, light fruits notes. Hints of hops do come out. The taste has the malts with its sweetness, cereal touch, some fruitiness and even, nuttiness. The hops do cut this richness a little. Some decent dryness in the finish, a tad bitterness lingering. Not a bad Vienna amber lager with a touch more hops.

183 Blood Brothers Paradise Lost (Spiced Cherry) Canada Wild Ale 4.1

Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 9

Wow! Quite an interesting smelling brew!! The spices and cherries are very well represented here, with some candy and vanilla hints eventually showing up. The taste shows the sourness, with the spiced cherries and mild tart left in the end. Red-pink-amber colour, lightly hazed with a pinkish head, decent lasting and full lacing. Quite a beautiful sour with a very nice Christmas feel.

184 Omnipollo Prize Pils Sweden Bohemian / Czech Pilsener 3.8

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8

A very slight haze-unfiltered, golden colour with a frothy white cap, good stay and some light, soapy spots left on the glass. Good cereal grain at first pour, with some spiciness and hints of sweet malts. The taste continues the nice, fresh Pilsner notes with the cereal malt, herbal hints and a mild spicy touch. This is quite a nice, well-balanced Pils with all that I am looking in one.

185 Wills Double IPA 3 (Citra-Nelson) Canada Imperial IPA 3.9

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8

Last Wills of the night, pouring a hazy golden-orange colour with a frothy, warm off-white head, good retention and leaving lacing cloudy streaks. Seems like the Citra is taking over the Nelson Sauvin in the one, but still pretty good. Citrus aromas with lemon zest and orange juice. The citrus juices continue into the flavours, but a bit of the white grapes do come out a touch. Some alcohol warms up a bit the mouthfeel. Decent bitterness, lots of citrus and very refreshing for a Double IPA with a tad Nelson Sauvin.

186 Spearhead Brewing / Society of Beer Drinking Ladies Cherry Dark Lager Canada Dunkel / Dark Lager 3.4

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 7

Dark brown colour with ruby and copper highlights. The head is frothy, light-beige, long lasting and leaving some decent lacing. Dark, burnt grains is the aroma with cherry, coffee notes. The cherries are quite hidden in the taste though, so mostly a Tmavý with some hop-grassy bitterness that slightly shows up with time. A decent dry finish results. Not a bad dark lager, but wish there was a bit more cherry purée to get it in the flavours.

187 Wills Beer Pale Ale 4 (Citra-Cascade-Chinook) Canada American Pale Ale 4.0

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8

Can that pours a hazy golden colour with an amber hue. The head is white, frothy, very long retention for an APA, leaving some sticky pacing patches. Fresh citrus aromas of lemon pee, orange juice and floral hints. Milder tasting, as the style should be, with still lemon zest, giving a little bitterness, building dryness. Hints of peach and vanilla do come out as it pours, oats in the taste. A nice juicy, hazy Pale Ale with citrus notes.

188 Simple Malt Sorbet Fraises et Mûres Canada Berliner Weisse 3.2

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 7

Under Sorbet Fraises & Camerises on their site, but Sorbet Fraises & Mûres on the can. Both fruits are in the ingredients. A very light red-amber colour with a frothy white cap, a tad pinkish, fizzing away, leaving minimal lace. A very slight haze that gets a little more as it pours. Berry aromas, some sourness, mild mothballs and tart. The fruit and sour flavours are a touch milder, with very light tart left on the tongue. An easy-drinking berry Berliner Weisse, just not sure how much wheat there is. Probably more rice - also written in the ingredients.

189 Microbrasserie Pit Caribou l'Arlequin Double IPA Canada Imperial IPA 3.8

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8

Medium hazed, golden colour with orange hue, an average head leaving a little lacing spots. Pineapple aromas over mild orange juice, a biscuit-caramel malt base and other tropical fruits. The pineapples continues into the flavours, but some herbal-hoppiness come to balance, cut out the sweetness, creating decent drying end. A good juicy, pineapple Double IPA that is refreshing.

190 Wills Beer IPA 3 (Mosaic-Motueka) Canada IPA 3.7

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7

Hazy amber colour with a frothy white head, good retention and dirty, sticky, light lacing. Fresh orange juice base with some tropical fruit notes, fresh herbal grassiness and a hint of lime from the Motueka. Wet, a little on the thick side, mouthfeel with a building dryness that does not go overboard. A nice balance between both hops getting some pine-grassiness, and citrus-tropical fruits. Particles fall to the bottom at last pour. A good micro that feels homemade, with refreshing juiciness and herbal bitterness, all blended.

191 Noctem Catnip Mini Canada IPA 3.6

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 8

Hazy, light golden-yellow colour with a white cap that disappears quick enough for the style, leaving a basic ring around the brew. Beautiful fresh aromas of many fruits - citrus, tropical and hints of oats. The taste is milder as a Session, but still lots of to offer. Lemons, oranges and a herbal touch. A mild dryness appears in the finish, but nicely juicy all-around. A very drinkable, refreshing, fruity Session NEIPA-style beer.

192 À La Dérive Feedel Weezel Bourbon Canada Imperial Porter 3.8

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 8

355ml can that pours a dark brown colour with ruby highlights, a frothy warm-beige head, average stay and some lacing small spots. Bourbon-corn aromas over the roasted barley, with dark fruit notes, and hints of molasses. The taste is milder, but still - Bourbon, alcohol, roasted barley, wood-oak flavours and hints of molasses. Not syrupy mouthfeel, more wet and with a decent dryness in the finish. A tad bananas, as maybe wheat in there. Quite a building dry end, getting stronger and stronger. A nice robust Porter with the Bourbon really coming through.

193 À La Dérive Bière de Salon Canada Witbier 3.5

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7

Lightly hazed, light golden-yellow colour with a fizzy-bubbly white cap, not much stay and a little ring around the brew. Lemon aromas with hints of camomile, honey sweetness. The taste shows the witbier base with mild citrus and spices. The smooth honey touch lingers with a tad floral note of camomile. A nice blend of styles that is easy to drink, remind me of tea blended with a Witbier.

194 Sir John Ces Allumettes Disent Que tu Mens! Canada IPA 3.6

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7

Hazy golden colour with a smaller off-white frothy-bubbly head, average retention and minimal lacing. Lemon zest aromas with a blend of orange. After breathing, coconut notes come out, balancing things a little further. Flavours of citrus zest, some bitterness, grassiness and not overly dry in the finish. Hints of coconut, but not as much as the nose. A decent, juicy IPA with more zestiness, without the dryness.

195 Sir John Duct Tape Canada Imperial IPA 3.8

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 8

Pours a hazy, golden-beige colour with a frothy-soapy whitish head, decent stay and some foamy spots left on the glass. Aromas of lemon zest, blending the bitter side with orange juice, some tropical fruits and a touch of grassiness. All of this continues into the taste - big building bitterness from the citrus peel, juices underneath balancing things and some growing dryness. An interesting Double IPA that feels like bitting into a lemon's exterior, and having a shot of Oasis orange juice with other tropical fruits added.

196 Brasseurs des Collines Collines de Bonne Gose Framboise Camerise Canada Gose 3.6

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 8

Can that gushes a big pinkish soapy head with particles left on it, good retention and foamy lacing. Hazy, amber-red colour with settlements at the bottom. Beautiful fresh berry aromas with vanilla hints. The mouthfeel is wet, lightly crisp with a tad tart in the finish, but clean overall. The fruits are milder in the flavours, but still stronger, longer lasting than most Gose. The saltiness is very faint. Quite a nice, refreshing fruity Gose.

197 Microbrasserie Pit Caribou Paradise Point NEIPA Canada IPA 3.8

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 8

Hazy from a bunch of tiny, transparent particles through the brew. Golden with a frothy white cap, good retention and foamy lacing. Citrus aromas of lemon zest, orange juice with some grassiness over a cereal grain base. Bigger particles show up as it pours. Flavours of citrus, mostly citrus peel giving some kind of bitterness, but with the juices in the background to balance things. Hoppy grass notes lingers. Building dryness in the finish. A nice micro-unfiltered NEIPA with good juiciness in the nose, but enough zest-bitterness, dryness in the mouth.

198 À La Dérive Impérial Plaisir Canada Imperial Stout 3.7

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7

355ml can that pours a real dark brown colour with little ruby-copper highlights. The head is nice and creamy, warm-beige, long lasting leaving some foamy patches of lacing. Chocolate aromas over the roasted barley base, mild coffee, vanilla, bananas and a touch of alcohol. A smooth, not too thick, slick mouthfeel with a lightly drying finish. The taste is on the bitter side with some grassiness, but does not last too long. A tad bananas, roasted malts and maybe 95% cacao chocolate. Yep, just a bitter-hoppier Imperial Stout here.

199 4 Degrees The Trash Panda Canada Oatmeal Stout 3.1

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7

Slightly hazed, dark brown colour with an amber-copper highlight. The mocha-coloured head is fizzy, disappearing rather quickly, just leaving a faint ring around the brew. Roasted malt nose with hints of dark fruits, molasses. The taste is milder as well with the roasted barley, and not really much else. A little dryness in the end, so really not thick of a mouthfeel. Not getting much of the oats. Nothing offensive though. Just a plain, easy-drinking stout.

200 Chelsea & Co. La Chelsea Lager d'Été Canada Light / Lite Lager 3.7

Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 8

Oh wow! Was not expecting this, but feels like a fresh, herbal summer lager. Lightly unfiltered, very light bright-yellow colour with a big white, frothy head, good retention and some spots of soapy lacing. Fresh herbal nose with some yeast coming out eventually, over mild straw malt. Hints of apples do come blend things, same for the flavours. Fresh, herbal, crisp mouthfeel, summer-like. Was expecting a bland, light lager like most, but the hops used in here come and make me happy. And this is an older can on top of this :P
