7126 | Sierra Nevada Summerfest | United States | Lager | 3.4
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Nice golden yellow colour with a foamy head that last a while. Good amount of lacing. Medium scent of spiced hops with a light touch of grass. Goes down very smooth, with a medium bitterness. Finish is also lightly bitter, with a taste of hop. A very refreshing summer pilsner ! |

7127 | Menabrea Birra | Italy | Pale Lager | 2.5
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 4 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 This Italian lager poured a pale yellow colour with a short lived foamy head. Some lacing occured. Lightly carbonated, I could smell grainy aromas. Grassy hops for taste and a thin mouthfeel. The better Italian beer I have tried so far (but that does not mean much). |

7128 | Birra Moretti | Italy | Lager | 2.1
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 4 Second Italian review of the night. Poured a light golden colour with not much head. Zero carbonation ! Smells hardly anything, tastes hardly anything. O.k. maybe a little hop here and there. Refreshing though. Funny, a couple of years ago, had this beer at a restaurant and enjoyed it. Maybe this one was older, but still no skunk from the green bottle. |

7130 | Köstritzer Schwarzbier / Kostritzer Schwarzbier | Germany | Schwarzbier | 3.7
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 From a 500ml can, poured a dark colour with red highlights, forming a big foamy head with medium thickness, that shortly dissolves. Some lacing with average malty aromas. Kind of looks like Guinness, but mouthfeel is thin and smooth. Not too bitter, not too heavy. Just a bit nutty and roasted for flavours. Awesome session beer ! |

7131 | Wellington County Dark Ale | Canada | Amber Ale | 3.6
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7 Wellington County Ale was considered a pale ale, but now that Wellington has revised their labels, it is called a dark ale. Its colour is of deep golden-amber, with fine carbonation creating a medium head with nice lacing. Scent of toffee and fruits is detected, but also, some harder to find aromas. Taste of caramel with hints of herbs makes this smooth beer, very refreshing. This is a great session beer. |

7132 | Wellington S.P.A. (Special Pale Ale) | Canada | English Pale Ale | 3.5
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 This beer is now called "Wellington Special Pale Ale" (formerly Special Cream Pale Ale). Wellington has just change their labels... but this pale ale is still creamy. Beautiful amber colour, it's nice foamy head is long lasting (especially for this type of style). Good amount of lacing. Aromas of caramel and hops. Full body flavour with mild bitterness, and a smooth finish. Very tight small bubble carbonation. Still, a creamy thin head is left at the end. Great 4.5% ABV pale ale. |

7133 | Wellington Arkell Best Bitter | Canada | Bitter | 3.8
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8 2nd Wellington beer testing tonight. Good, it's quite different from the "Special Pale Ale". Light amber in colour with a small disappearing head. I can smell green apples. Tastes mildly bitter, not as much as expected, and with hints of those apples. Pretty damn good. |

7134 | Lakeport Wee Willy | Canada | Dunkel / Dark Lager | 3.1
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 6 Dark red with brownish bubbly head (that lasted about 2 minutes... not bad). Nice mild aromas of chocolat and coffee, but this is nowhere near a stout. You can drink many of these without being full. In fact, you could only buy this beer in 24 packs, but it did not sell. Now, you can finally buy it in a 6 pack. Watery with hints of coffee and nuts, with a sweet smooth aftertaste. Very well priced and Lakeport's best beer along with their Honey Lager. |

7135 | Boris | France | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 3.0
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 Comes in a "cute", small 250ml, green bottle. Bought a really portable 6-pack of these. It is close to a German Pils, but is considered a strong pale (and is from France). Has a pale golden colour and very bubbly. Not much head, and no lacing. Moderate hop aromas and mild bitter taste, with a sweet finish. Quite refreshing ! At 5.5% ABV, good thing the bottles are small. If you like Heineken, this is a good alternative. |

7136 | Wychwood Fiddler's Elbow | United Kingdom | Bitter | 2.8
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 5 | Overall: 5 As always, great looking label on a clear 500ml bottle, from Wychwood brewery. Poured a nice golden-orange with an average head. Had citrus aromas and taste, with a light bitterness. Also, hints of apple. Not bad, but prefered Hobgoblin from this brewery. |

7137 | Unibroue L'Éphémère Cassis (Unibroue L'Éphémère Black Currant) | Canada | Fruit Beer | 4.5
Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 9 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 9 Had a two-for-one special last night at the pub I went to, so had a few (o.k. many). Like all Ephemere from Unibroue, I really enjoyed these. Purple-pink in colour, this well-carbonated beer had a good long-lasting head (as most Unibroue beers do). Nice fruity aromas and great black currant taste (not to sweet, always well balanced). |

7138 | Duckstein Rotblondes Oberbräu | Germany | Altbier | 3.3
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 6 Comes in a nice 500ml brown bottle, with a seal around the cap written "Garanteed to be beechwood matured". Pours an amber colour and a nice bubbly head just like the Lowenbrau I had tonight (except it was beige). Aromas of sweet malts. Has a dry bitterness and a sweet finish. For and altbier, I do prefer Magnotta Brewery Classic Altbier. |

7139 | Löwenbräu Original / Lowenbrau Original | Germany | Helles / Dortmunder | 3.1
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 4 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 Lowenbrau most popular beer (Original) is pale yellow with a good head (quite a lot for this type of beer - and long lasting). The high carbonation is swirling like a tornado in my glass. It has a slight matly aroma (but no skunk in mine... woohoo !!). Taste is crisp and refreshing, leaving a good amount of lacing. There is a mild bitterness with a clean finish. I was expecting a metallic taste, but I did not get it (which is fine with me). Great summer beer. |

7140 | McAuslan St. Ambroise Cream Ale | Canada | Cream Ale | 4.8
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 10 This (for the time being) has to be my favorite beer. It beats Kilkenny (which is a good beer), but the problem is that you cannot get it any other way then in a keg. That means you have to have it in a pub. Creamy as hell. Wow, wow, wow !! Highly addictive. Wish they would make it in a 500ml can. |

7141 | Newcastle Brown Ale | United Kingdom | Brown Ale | 2.6
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 3 | Overall: 4 Newcastle "The One and Only". Wow, lots of marketing behind this beer. Bud drinkers might like this beer, if you don't show them the colour. A redish-brown beer with a thin tan head. Tiny bubble carbonation. Smells a bit sweet with hints of coffee. Up to that point, everything lives up to its image. Taste - nothing there. I'm pretty sure it tastes better on tap then in a bottle. Makes an o.k. summer beer. Bass is much better, even Hobgoblin. |

7142 | John Smiths Pub Draught Ale | United Kingdom | Bitter | 2.6
Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 4 | Overall: 5 440 ml can with a widget. Poured a hazy amber colour with a very nice, thick and creamy, long lasting head. A beautiful beer up to that point. Then, very little aroma. Light smooth taste and short finish. Reminds me of a Kilkenny, without the punch. It's not bad at all, but just no taste and aromas. |

7143 | McEwans India Pale Ale | United Kingdom | IPA | 2.7
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 3 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 500ml can. Redish-brown with a nice lasting bubbly head. Very little aroma, very light carbonation. Bitter caramel taste with a smooth metallic finish. Like other mentioned, hard to take it as an IPA (more like Brett said "an English Brown Ale"). |

7144 | Molson Ultra (2004-2008) | Canada | Light / Lite Lager | 3.1
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 This is a low carb beer. These beers seem to be the fashionable thing right now. Sleeman made the Clear, Labatt made the Sterling, etc... But of all of them, Molson Ultra is the best for me. It has 4.5% alcohol, as oppose to 4% for the others, which makes this beer tastier then the rest. This is the beer I prefer to watch the 2003-2004 hockey season (specially the playoffs - Go Flames Go !!). |

7145 | True North Strong | Canada | Strong Lager | 3.2
Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7 A copper-red colour with a beige bubbly head. I don't know if it's a bad batch, but I see hardly any carbonation. It has a sweet smell going on the bitter side. I know it is blasphemy, but this beer is actually much better drank from the bottle. |

7146 | True North India Pale Ale | Canada | IPA | 3.3
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 5 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 7 Golden orange in colour, this IPA with a medium head leaves a foamy lacing. Lightly carbonated, I can smell hints of citrus (specially oranges). It has a medium bitter taste to it but with a smooth finish. The strong alcohol content is not unpleasant, but hits the right spot in your head. Better then Keith's for a Canadian IPA. |

7147 | Zywiec | Poland | Lager | 3.1
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 7 A Polish co-worker of mine brought some of this beer at work once for a staff party. A few were left, so I brought one home. It stayed in the fridge for quite a while (maybe 6-7 months). So, I might have totally fooled results. Had a light honey colour with a soapy white head that faded away. Not much in ways of carbonation and scent. The taste is quite interesting. I savoured the slight taste of a white ale, which is funny, being a pale lager. Since I love white ales, I enjoyed at least the flavour of this beer. It does not feel like it's out of date though. The label fell off before I got the beer, so no way of knowing date of freshness. I will retry this beer someday. OK, so bought some fresh one (end of 2008 - best before 19.03.2009) and re-reviewed it. Much better brew fresh, with a pils taste and strong grain malt aromas. Decent head, lacing and small bubble carbonation. Now comes with a cool beer thermometer, with a little logo in the back that appears when it is the ideal drinking temperature. Quite a refreshing Polish pilsner. |

7148 | Warsteiner Premium Verum | Germany | Bohemian / Czech Pilsener | 3.0
Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6 This pilsner pours a nice yellow body, with a small foamy head that goes down rapidly. There is a great volume of carbonation, but little sign of lacing. Pleasant notes of hops and malty aromas. Tastes a slight bitter at first, but has a reasonable smooth aftertaste. Warsteiner Premium Verum is a decent pilsner. |
