Poured a cloudy golden-white colour with a fluffy head. Nose was of citrus and spices. The taste was also of spices, specially coriander. Had a crsip finish. This brew is very close to Boréale Blanche (which I prefer of the two).

I think this brew is brand new as I cannot find any info on it on the web. It is at least new in our Canadian beer stores. Comes in a normal brown bottle, which is weird, as Pabst Blue Ribbon (normal) comes in cans. Says it is brewed by Stroh Canada. Pours a golden-amber colour with a descent head and some lacing. The rest feels like the original Pabst Blue Ribbon, except for a slight honey scent and a sweeter taste. Not bad at all. Plain refreshing.

First of two Leffe brews. Poured a rich golden-amber colour with a beige head with good retention. Excellent for an ale, but fast dissapating for a beer from Belgium. Foamy lacing was found on the tulip glass. Aromas were spicy and wheaty. The mouth was sweet, filled of fruits, and also spices like cloves and coriander. The mouthfeel was medium / full body with good carbonation. Even though this is a mass-produced Belgium beer, I find it very, very pleasant.

As you can see in most reviews, Pabst Blue Ribbon is one of most drinkers favorite cheap beers. Poured a pale golden-yellow colour with a descent foamy head and actually left some lacing. Aromas were hoppy, and taste is there too. Not big, but it is there. Carbonation is not much visible. A crisp beer with a smooth aftertaste. Very drinkable. Recommended for bands (for the jams).

  • John Sleeman Presents Fine Porter

Just when you thought Sleeman (Canada's 3rd biggest brewer) would kill Unibroue, they come out with their craziest beer - Fine Porter. This is brewed only for a limited time. They are supposed to brew a different beer every November (says a small advertising inside the 12 pack). This recipe comes from page 68 of the family book. It comes in the classic Sleeman clear bottle, but has a label in the back of the bottle. Poured a deep mahogany colour with a foamy-creamy tanned head. The head had good retention and creates heavy lacing. Aromas are of sweet and roasted malts. Tasted like burnt toffee with hints of molasse-coffee. The bitterness attacks at 3/4 of the way, and then there is a nice smooth finish. Maybe not the best porter (for some), but a damn fine product from M. John Sleeman.

Poured a clear light straw colour with a full white head. The retention was nat bad at all, and the lacing was great (being full). The nose is of sweet malts and grains. The taste is malty, but not sweet like the nose is, and has a hop bitterness that kicks in, finishing with a smooth aftertaste. Mouthfeel is fairly light bodied with a good amount of carbonation. A pretty good pils.

This is the newest beer from this brewer in a long time. Not being a fan of Boréale, I kind of hesitated. But a fan of witbier I am. Poured a cloudy golden-white colour with a beautiful thick white head. There is a good amount of lacing. Aromas are herbal and fruity. The taste is of ginger mostly with hints of honey and citrus. This is definitely not Unibroue's Blanche de Chambly, but I find it still amazing because of the spices. Heavily recommended.

This buckwheat beer poured a copper-amber colour with a small head and not much lacing. You can definatly smell the buckwheat, also mixed with the malty and hints of nuts. The taste is composed of sweet malts and fruitiness. It has a nice slight bitter finish and a medium mouthfeel. Even though I really like this beer, I still prefer its competition, "Coup de Grisou" from Brasseurs RJ in Montreal.

This is beer I discovered a while back because it would look pretty low-budget and white-trash, so my buddy and I thought it would be funny to try. It caught us off guard. Since then, I have been a fan. Poured a golden-yellow colour with a small head. Leaves a bit of lacing in spots. The nose is hoppy. The mouth is of sweet malts, mild hops, with hints of apples (which is what I really like about this brew). The mouthfeel is smooth and kind of dry. One of my favorite plain-old lager.

Sampled from a 500ml brown bottle. Poured a hazy golden / lemon yellow colour with a white head of medium size, leaving a bit of lacing. Lots of sediments were left at the bottom of the bottle. The nose was of herbal scents with hints of lemon and mint. The mouth was of nice wheat flavour mixed in with spices. The mouthfeel was formed from a very fine carbonation. A very refreshing Weisse brew for those hot summer days, but very enjoyable now that the cold season is among us.
