True pilsner? Hmm well if that's so then Budweiser is the KOB (both ludicrious claims, of course). Watery, some hop flavor (no aroma, I can detect) which ain't too bad for some macro crap. Blah, boring, cheap and good for offering (female) guests (they seem to like it). If you're on this site, read about something more intersting, you've had this already, anyway.

Watery and lightly hopped, tasted like a better Miller Lite. Given how good New Belgium's famous Fat Tire brew is, this was a disappointed. Faint floral aroma, light lacing, nothing to get excited about. Please give this some Saaz kick and it will rock, NB!

Pretty dang good beer enjoyed by my whole family (Dad, especially). I witnessed nice lacing and a pleasant hop aroma which is very piney and rather citrusy. Its as Christmas-y as a beer can be without spicing and I would venture to say that the 2006 Release is far superior to SN Celebration.

Good pilsner, not the best, but a nice change of pace. Good bite at the end and pleasant mouthfeel, could use more malt flavor. Definately worth picking up a sixer, I will be doing so again.

Schafly's best? Doesn't matter, really, but it is a fantastic bitter ale. The rye adds a distinctive flavor and seems to come across in the aftertaste. Pours a orange amber color and laces the glass persistantly. Great on tap and in bottles. I wish it were made all year 'round. Get this if you can, and get it right now.

Different than macros made in the US, but not any better. Poor carbonation, color and an inoffensive, if undectable, flavor. Very easy to drink, but incredibly forgettable.

This beer had a good flavor, but like others have said, I'm not quite sure it was exactly pumpkin flavor. There was spice, which was nice, but a more prominent pumpkin element to the beer would have been welcome, although that may have made it heavy for an ale. Still enjoyable and a welcome change from the boring Bud Light in the bars. I may not come back to this beer, but it certainly got me interested in the style.

Average, still good because it is still beer, but just average. I refused to pay the rediculous price of $8+ for a six-pack and sampled it at the brewery in St. Louis. Even tasting the freshest of the fresh of this overpriced "masterbrew" I was less than impressed. World Select bridges the gap between AB products and those "regional specialty brewers" that are getting too large for their own good (Shiner, New Belgium, etc.). But why deal with the middle of the road, when the grass is greener in a browner, cheaper bottle?

Wonderful, creamy, rich, dark brown, malty and drinkable. This is a great domestic stout. The addition of oatmeal is a smooth and warming balance to the bitter hops. Fantastic with meatloaf, green beans and biscuits when the snow gets deep.

Rerate: I found this beer for the first time again the other day. It has now taken over as my favorite domestic Pilsner. Those saaz kick ass. American Pilsner, a term that almost doesn't make sense, almost. I'm a sucker for fresh beer and I can get this very fresh, being just down the street from the Schlafly Tap Room. But on the whole, it is comparable to, not on the same level as, but comparable to Pilsner Urquell in every way, except that this is generally milder. Schlafly Pilsner is far superior Miller Lite, "True Pilsner" and a noble effort that has room for honing.
