Break one-nine for a local (Benoit, WI)

Non-Beer Discussion by FRETWALKER

That's CB parlance, requesting local information, on ch19.. For a change, I know where I'm going a whole day in advance, a very rare occurrence! I'll be in Beloit, WI, Monday morning (9/9) 1- Can anyone recommend a good beer store? I'm looking mainly for Central Waters' Brewer's Reserve series (I'll grab a case of that Bourbon Barrel Scotch Ale, if I can find it!) and Tyranena's Brewers Gone Wild series, and any other hidden gem I can lay my hands on upon which I can lay my hands. (suggestions invited) 2- Anyone know a good brewpub for lunch? And if any BeerPals nearby are free for lunch, drop me a BeerMail in the next 24 hrs!

This reminds me a little...well...a lot...of the San Francisco news station reading the names of the pilots involved in the crash several weeks back...read it with a straight face.. Like someone didn't bother to fact-check things and threw some of the worst possible beers into the list just for shits and giggles, and to see if someone would actually report this as "the best beers in the world"...Laurentina Clara??? Are you shitting me? LOL

Yeah, I feel kinda snobby when I frown on reports about the best beers.... or when a waiter says what a fine beer they have with good flavor and offer a bridge beer.... So I keep quiet and recognize such things as progress for many. We've all been there - or many of us have anyway. But this was hard to take seriously. I couldn't really take it seriously, but I think it supposed to be.

If I were associated with BA or RB, my lawyer would be writing a letter!

I thought " I wonder how many I have had?" Lucky for me I can proudly say, none! But there was a disclaimer: Since FindTheBest's rankings depend on reviews, consumers and experts need to have access to a beer before reviewing it, and that's not always possible for some of the truly delicious but hard-to-find beers out there. "The reality is most of these [beers with big marketing budgets] aren't very good at all,” O'Connor told “Big Data Download.” “Our data shows that when people actually taste lesser-known beers and compare them to the most popular ones, they often prefer the small-brewery option," O'Connor said.
