Anderson Valley Wild Turkey Bourbon Barrel Stout

Beer Discussion by FRETWALKER

BeerPal Notice: This topic was created for discussion of the beer Anderson Valley Wild Turkey Bourbon Barrel Stout. I happen to be drinking one... pretty tasty, just not what we'd ordinarily expect from a bourbon-barrel stout... BUT, I looked up the description in the Beer Vault, and, FOOD PAIRINGS: Beef sliders with caramelized onions... In other words, it goes well with White Castle? I can see it, although in my youth, Schoenling Little Kings was de regueur with WCs

Huh, seems to be improving. Had a second bottle gifted. Less boozy after a little time in the bottle. Not too shabby. Still not a $10 beer, but its hitting the spot on this 1st day of autumn.

Love the White Castle pairings, though [:D]
I had to laugh at the combination of White Castle and Little Kings! So true! Thanks for (reviving) the memories, gents! http://www.beerpal.com/Little-Kings-Cream-Ale-Beer/7500/

Just bought a bottle of this beer over the weekend. Can't wait to get a sack full of Krystal (Southern version of White Castle) burgers to pair with while I drink it out of the bottle in a brown paper sack.

not often an average at best beer is made into such a tasty beer because of barreling..

Ha![:D][:D] Yeah... IW can make a beer worse by barrelling, to which you may say to yourself, "Isn't that counter-productive?" For any other brewery, the answer would be "yes." Alas, Indian Wells is in a category all by itself. ....why do they have to be one of my two local breweries??DANGUMMITT!![V]
