Congratulations, I have to admit though, I didn't find that beer nearly as good as you did.

i liked it. i think they used a saison yeast and a champagne yeast. not very saison like, more of a belgian strong maybe aroma is honey, estery, phenolic. med/light body, crisp with a dry finish. taste is honey, light fruity, light spicey, med/light sweetness.

Haven't had this beer yet but saisons were never meant to be anything but sessionable. 11.5%ABV = Not.Sessionable. If Boulevarrd is _______/aware, I'm sure they will eventually style this beer as something else.

Pretty sure the typical accepted Saison range is up to around 7.5% give or take which is above my session threshold......but yes 11.5% is stretching the limits quite a bit. Should be a Belgian Strong (Golden). mmmmmmmmmmmm saison

Yes. The typical American version of saison seems to usually sit at a higher ABV.

Typically, sure. It's the 21st century though, boys. If you haven't noticed, "classic" style guidelines are blurred/crossed/raped and pillaged every day.

And usually fruited, spiced, or spiked with some other odd ingredient(s).... Had Sgt. Pepper last night which has peppercorns added in the boil. Very intriguing and enjoyable beer, but one of my friends didn't like it as well as not liking Saisons at all. Had to explain to him that most American versions are higher in strength and usually add misc. ingredients as opposed to the classic versions. Suggested he seek out DuPont pronto or some other Belgian Saison to re-evaluate his opinion on the style.
