What time can you buy booze at/til in your state?
General Beer Discussion by PHISHPOND417
This little blurb from the Onion about our Governor's recent bill signing made me wonder about what other state's booze buying times start and end at. Now that the third shifters can drink a little earlier, how about raising the 9pm end time to Midnight? Wisconsin liquor store hours 6am-9pm. Bars are open until 2am.

152 Proof will knock your talleywhacker up into your watchpocket. Back to the original question: Some Tennessee counties STILL do not allow any liquor sales, just beer. Those counties are usually no beer after midnight - 2:00am until 6:00am, no sales on Sundays. Some of the cities like Memphis and Nashville shut down very late if at all on any given night. The city I that I reside allows beer sales 24 hours per day except sales cut off sometime after midnight on Sunday and resume I believe 6:00 or 8:00 am Sunday morning. Liquor stores state wide can stay open 8:00 am until 11:00 pm, Mon-Sat. The entire state of Tennessee closes liquor stores on Sunday but you can buy mixed drinks, beers, wine, etc at restaurants in most counties that already allow liquor sales. Also NO liquor stores open on the big Holidays: New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day. Up until just a few years ago, all Tennessee Liquor stores had to also close on any state wide or National election day. In other words, Tennessee is a giant Chinese Clusterf&*k when it comes to figuring out the alcohol laws which vary county to county.

Clear as a bell... will clean barnacles from a shrimp boat... bubbles? We don't need no stinkin' bubbles...

I have one of my Depot Street growlers (almost) full of 152-proof... it'll get your attention. [:D]

Liquor and beer are illegal in Tennessee all of the time. No sales. That's why we get our corn from a jar...[:D]
Interesting...I'm pretty sure that if I walked into the Mobil or the Chevron (the only two places open 24 hours) at 3 AM, they'd still sell me beer, though. Laws don't mean much around here...you can even smoke in the bars.

2am is the law in California. Between 2am and 6am it's illegal to serve booze of any kind.
oHIo beers sales are from 5:30 AM to 2:30 AM (why even stop for 3 hours?) We sell beer to go everywhere from liquor stores to grocery stores with bottle shops, wine stops, and small markets in between. Then there are the gas stations and drive-thrus where you may peruse without ever leaving the comfort of your vehicle. Because we are "The Heart of it All"

You might be right, but if that business is caught selling booze after 2am then someone would get a pretty large fine and possibly loose their liquor license. Hell, you can't even buy a beer at 1:59am in a bar and still be inside the bar drinking it at 2am or risk fines/license revocation.

The only time I can think where there is an exception in the bar close time in Wisc is on New Years Eve. And maybe it's everywhere too, I don't know. I remember being in a bar on New Years Eve, a few years back a little after 4:00am, and the bartender finally calling it quits and starting to kick everyone out. The bars, I could care less about. But they not buying beer at liquor stores after 9pm really annoys me.

Wikipedia has a digest of state laws: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_alcohol_laws_of_the_United_States_by_state Kentucky, like many states, gives a lot of power to counties. Here in Kenton county, most bars close at 1am, though some pay more for a 2am license; grocery stores cut off beer sales at 1am, and I'm not aware of any liquor stores in this county that are open past 11pm. No Sunday sales here until 11am.
Well I'm not in a state I'm in a province but beer stores/liquor stores open at either 9:30 or 10 am depending on the day(12 on Sundays) and close anywhere from 8 to 11 depending upon volume sales, whereas bars are from 12 pm til 2 am, though certain events or nights, like NYE, some places if they apply in time and have live entertainment tcan serve til 3, 3:30 am
Licensed Ontario establishments have been allowed to start selling alcoholic beverages at 10:00am since April 6, 1977. When a bar opens is entirely up to them, but they can open as early as 10am if they choose.
