Al DiMeola, John McLaughlin, Paco de Lucia - Friday Night In San Francisco Jefferson Starship - Blows Against the Empire Jimi Hendrix - Axis, Bold as Love Ike & Tina Turner - Greatest Hits... severasl goodies, but I MUST have "I've Been Loving You Too Long," in any case. Ten Wheel Drive - Construction #1 And I'm sure I'll spend the rest of my life pining for what I had to leave out... Miles... Rachmaninoff... SRV... anybody got an aspirin?
Jefferson Starship....over ....SRV?? Who'da thunk it.

Hence, the headache! ... Blows Against the Empire was originally conceived as a project for Jefferson Airplane, and features a cast of SanFran rock all-stars... Crosby, Stills, Garcia, Kreutzman, Hopkins, etc. It was nominated for a Hugo Award, sci-fi literature. It took a couple decades to go Platinum, probably due to a few thousand cognoscenti replacing their worn-out vinyl LPs. 2nd five makes me feel better about the tough choices in the first 5: Lonnie Mack/SRV - Strike Like Lightning - Not SRV's best, but I jammed with Lonnie once, and it's a nice memory that manages to include SRV in the list. John McLaughlin/Carlos Santana - Love, Devotion, Surrender... interesting contrast in guitar styles of 2 master guitarists, inspired by John Coltrane. If I can have 10 more, Santana's Abraxis is in, for sure. Janis Joplin/Big Brother and the Holding Company - Cheap Thrills... just for the R.Crumb cover, if nothing else! Miles - Bitch's Brew... no explanation needed. The Great Melodies of Tchaikovsky, gotta get some classical in here... Eugene Ormandy & the Philadelphia Philharmonic is probably my fave, w2ish I had room for some Rachmaninoff! And John McLaughlin made my top ten twice, without the Mahavishnu Orchestra?

Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass - Whipped Cream & Other Delights The Pogues - Red Roses for Me AC/DC - Live Tom Petty - Full Moon Fever Flogging Molly - Swagger Hurts me to have no proper blues, jazz, old country or some other rock, but I tried to pick albums that are solid from start to finish.
