Ghosts and Aliens
Non-Beer Discussion by STALEYIV
Well, I know this is a bit of a weird topic but it is on my mind. I was wondering if you all believe in ghosts or have seen them? I also was wondering if you all believe in aliens or have seen them? I myself, have never seen either but I would love to. In my opinion, I believe in aliens but I am not sure about ghosts; that just seems more of a stretch than the existence of aliens. Anyway, I guess this thread is fitting considering it is almost Halloween. Let me know what you all think and let me hear your stories of your ghostly encounters, or alien ones as well for that matter.

I am with you staley. I listen to Coast to Coast AM, but think most people on there are full of crap or nuts. I think that aliens exist, but am very skeptical that any have ever reached Earth. Give me some real proof. As for ghosts, again, I am very skeptical, but still think it is possible. Why not?
I've never seen either one of them, but I do believe in both. The universe is too big for us to be the only ones in it, and the body is energy, and energy can't be destroyed. I've never been to Stoll, KS which is about a half hour from where I live, but it's supposed to be a gateway to hell. Guess I could check that out if I want to see some ghosts.
i do believe in both. w/ ghosts i don't look at like religious thing or a white emination with round black eyes that goes "boo", rather the meta-physical "energy" that is the embodiment of all of us that gets released when we die. so basically, the spirit world and the "after-life" are 2 different things. there was a movie recently w/ michael keaton called "white noise" that was loosely based on a phenomenon of trapping or capturng the voices of the dead through this energy. they say the aztecs were vistied by aliens. that this primitive culture had alot of references and monuments to e.t.'s well we'l never know for certain as we were never there, these are widely accepted theories along the same lines as to the interpretation of the cave drawings and heiroglyphs. going back even further, the sumarians also had a belief that there was "something out there". it was really christianity that killed the debate on both of these topics by making it heresy to suggest otherwise.
Didn't the Aztecs also believe that their God (or one of their Gods) was conceived by a virgin who got pregnant after swallowing a ruby, emerald, topaz, or some other precious gem? Call me narrowminded, but I think the Aztecs are gonna have to prove that one to me before I buy it.

Not "aliens", dear friends, but "extraterestrials". Just let us be polite and inteligent civilization. It is for sure that there are lots of different civilizations in the Universe. But third degree contacts, cattle mutilation... well. Frieds from USA, what about Rosvel?
I think it would be pretty f***ing presumptious of us, not to mention somewhat elitist as well to believe we are/could be the only form of life in the universe. And, without getting too much into religion, here's a thought to ponder: isn't it more than a bit believable that (insert your form of Higher Power here)sees how screwed up the people on earth are that He/She/It may just possibly have attempted at least ONE shot at improvment?
