In Reply To #4 Not sure where you live, but up here in the Northeast, this stuff (and So. Co. 100 proof) is great for warming the body up!

I live in Georgia but it still gets cold on occasion down here; I drink Southern Comfort all year around because it is so good.

if i'm at a bar its most always beer, but at home here, naturally, i like to switch it up sometimes. If i have some limes laying around, i'll make up a nice refreshing gin & tonic.....that always hits the spot, 'specially in the hot summer. (of course i keep the tonic at hand). Gotta go with the Tanqueray there..... sometimes ill nurse a bottle of Cabernet for a while, usually then i will fall asleep imminently..... I'm not too good with the hard stuff straight up but it seems that a lot of beer fans also like scotch too. This message was edited by aabrewer318 at 4/27/2005 9:28:05 PM.

Hey, me too - I'm also drinkin' (as opposed to drinking) scotch. Sadly, the missus likes me less when I'm on the whisky. Hard cheese, darlin', Scots ancestry demands that we do this.

In Reply To #3 Now matey, that be some whiskey! I brought a bottle back from London once, one of my favorites, and I do love the whiskey from Scotland. Ole fellow told me once "all Scotish whiskey can be divided into two camps. Rubber boots, and lighter fluid". I am a rubber boots man myself, and Laphroaig cask is my delight. Have a version of Wee heavy with a dram or two...

I usually drink water if not beer... But anyway there are no reasons to make breaks of drinking beer. If we would talk about vodka - hey, you need pauses for it :) But this is BEER - drink of gods and wise human beings!

In Reply To #8 LOL... I gotta say my fiance isn't at all a fan of the scotch. Sometimes doesn't want to get near me after a scotch, not becaue of my actions (maybe sometimes :) but because I guess she hates the smell. It's funny... I figured it was only a matter of time before someone said this was in the wrong forum... Technically it's about beer - about taking a break from beer!

All this non-beer talk has me craving a margarita! I think I'll kick back tonight on the patio with Don Julio, put on some Buffet and enjoy this beautiful 80 degree day. Brad - I've only had the jet fuel Scotch. I'm going to have to try the other sometime.
