MISSION We Believe… •We believe beer is for everyone and for everyone there is a beer. •We believe in using only the choicest ingredients – that includes Lake of the Woods water. •We believe in utilizing old world brewing styles and in crafting our beer in small batches. In doing so we are providing excellence and quality in every ounce of beer we produce. •We believe competition breed’s excellence. The more the merrier. •We believe in carbohydrates. •We believe in living and working Green. Our dyes are vegetable ink, our cardboard and glass recycled and our packaging compostable. •We do our best to ‘grow our own’ in the kitchen. We have used repurposed fixtures where possible; our eatery uses compostable take away containers & utensils and we purchase environmentally friendly cleaning supplies and products wherever we can. •We believe that when given the chance to visit with friends & family, while the sun shines over you, while beer chills in the cooler below you, you should take that chance. Every chance you get. •We believe that you should put down your Blackberry and go pick some actual blackberries. •We believe in supporting the arts. All arts – the craftsman, the painter, the instructor, the sculptor, the musician, the poet, the ice carver, the clay maker, the sidewalk busker. •We believe in Kenora, and Lake of the Woods. We believe in buying local. We believe life is about enjoyment. Period. VISION Our Duty: •Lake of the Woods Brewing Company is creating only the highest quality lagers & ales. It is our duty to educate our staff and our customer about how craft beer is made and why our beer is unique, and the benefit of buying ANYTHING locally (not just locally crafted beer). •It is our duty to operate a profitable business that is as focused on fuelling the growth of our employees as we are on fueling the growth of the community to which we live, work and play. •This is our planet just as much as it is yours. It is our responsibility – yours and ours – to think of the environment as part of us – not just a place we exist or work in. It’s all our duty to nurture Mother Earth so we will always have an environment to continue to enjoy each other, and our beer. •It is our duty to not only think outside the box – but to also not be afraid to rethink, redesign, and rebuild that box. To be innovators and leaders in our craft, to rethink tradition while paying homage to it. •It is our duty to never forget where we have come from – that we are all students of the craft – and that the customer is King (and Queen Lets face it – we wouldn’t be here if we didn’t have all kinds of people from all over Hell’s-half-acre wanting to drink our beer, who keep asking for more. We are fans of good beer as much as we are brewers of it. •It is our duty to not take ourselves too seriously. Hard work and passion drive our success, but it is all for naught if we can’t laugh and learn from our mistakes. Funny how life seems to imitate beer. •We may not change the world – but we are changing the way we look at it. One beer at a time.
