Den Mönchen war früher in der Fastenzeit das Essen untersagt. Als Folge davon brauten sie ein besonders starkes und damit nahrhaftes Bier, das Starkbier. Getreu dieser Tradition brauen wir jedes Jahr speziell zur Fastenzeit unseren SILVATOR streng nach dem Reinheitsgebot mit besten Rohstoffen aus Niederbayern und der Hallertau ein. Der Name SILVATOR ist von lateinischen Wort für Wald ( lat: silva ) abgeleitet. Wir wollen damit die Herkunft des Bieres aus dem Bayerischen Wald zum Ausdruck bringen.

Bottled. Deep golden colour, small white head. Aroma is bready malts, alcohol, some wood and also mild bready notes. Flavour is quite much the same. A rather sweet doppelbock.

Bottle. Poured a hazy copper-mahogany colored beer with a two fingers slight beige creamy foamy head that had a good retention. Active carbonation. Some lacing. The aroma is slight toasted malts, caramel, dark ripe fruits. The flavour is caramel malts, toffee, spicy, licorice, molasses, dark ripe fruits. The mouthfeel is crispy and round. This full bodied beer has a dry spicy finish. An enjoyable - ATOR beer.
