On tap at hotel during happy hour, so had a few tastings. Clear amber, light brown lasting, lacing foam head. Sweet caramel aroma, light caramel taste. (Houston 201505)

Pours barely translucent cola brown, not much head. Aroma has malty and caramel notes and a hint of horehound. Flavor is mainly caramel with malty d horehound notes. Smooth, firm, fizzy texture finishes the experience. Overalll, not too shabby. Fine with lunch.

Unremarkable. Pour is thin. Looks like a macro brew. There is no aroma. I suppose that is better than an offensive odor. Mouthfeel is surprisingly good. A little thick and bubbly. The taste is of malt and onions. A little brown sugar on the finish. I guess this might be good with bratwurst. Not bad. Not good.

Clear brown, minimal head no lace. Nice malt aroma. A little metallic aftertaste. Fair example, but if you're gonna play in Texas you gotta have s Shiner in the band.

Soild but unspectacular, not a bad beer although i consider it a bock lite since it lacks the strength and robust flavor of a true bock. Its o.k. when you consider the price.

I wasn't very impressed with this beer. Dark brown colour with a reddish hue. somewhat sweet, firm malted character, but stale hop finish. lightly roasted malts- just a sub par beer.

Born on 21 Sep 05 and consumed 164 days later (max recommended: 110). A-B's challenger to Shiner Bock is brewed and available only in Texas. 12 oz. brown long-neck bottle with twist-off cap. Clear chestnut brown, no head or lace. Nice malt bite to the nose. After Lagunitas Brown Shugga, this feels and tastes like water.A tad tinny in the aftertaste. I am amused at the number of quality references on the label: Highest Quality, Premium Quality, Very Finest Ingredients, etc. I mean, who are they trying to convince?

It's an okay beer. But as many have said, it is hardly a bock and if you want a similar beer, only a bit better, go Shiner Bock. Why is a beer from MO sporting a big huge Texas logo?

Pretty much an excuse for a bock. Very lame tasting, and looking. Reminds me of fowl hunting. I had this while in Texas. Not great. Not a session brew.

Reddish amber colour, fair aroma, somewhat reddish (very light) head, reminded me a lot of Killians and not a bock at all. A pretty average beer with a nice logo on the bottle. I had it in Texas. A good local brew. Another average American beer that would be great ice cold on a very hot Texas day. If in Texas give it a try. Certainly not a bad beer but unremarkable in character.
