Yellowhead Brewery produces an all natural Yellowhead Premium Lager. The most important thing to know about Yellowhead Premium Lager is that it is fresh beer, and fresh beer always tastes better. The second most important thing is that Yellowhead Premium Lager is crafted following strict purity laws by a German trained Doemen's Technician Brew-Master. Brewing to strict purity law means; 1) contains only four ingredients: barley, hops, yeast and water 2) contains no preserative 3) is naturally carbonated Tasting notes A light golden-amber, Yellowhead Premium lager is alive with a gentle effervescence. This naturally carbonated lager is a taste treat to behold. Led by aromas of mild hops and fresh grass, Yellowhead's texture is crisp with gentle malt sweetness and a subdued bitterness on the palate. This lager would appeal to someone who appreciates a fine brew, enjoys a beer with their meal and appreciates a local Canadian product. History of Yellowhead Beer We chose the name Yellowhead for our Premium Lager because it was the name of the first comercially brewed beer in Edmonton. Yellowhead beer originated in 1894 on the site of the present Royal Glenora Club in Edmonton's River Valley. Both the original 'Yellowhead' and our Yellowhead Premium lager take the name from an actual historical personality: Tête Jaune.

Crystal clear light copper with a 1” fluffy cap, retention was ok especially for a lager. Aroma was ok lots of cereal, a fake watermelon candy, and some bread will not really bread more of just flour and water mixed together in a bowl there is even a weird hop aroma what I can’t pinpoint. Taste is metallic and crisp with smooth drinking malts, a surprisingly nice hop presence in the brew to. Beer is smooth and refreshing with good soft carbonation at some points the beer seems to take on a grassy taste. I like this beer a lot would be great for just causal drinking in the summer. Great beer and locally brewed for me.
