The tan lace clings to the glass as you raise the pint to your lips. Close your eyes and smile as the rich espresso notes fade to a dry, roasted finish. Exceptionally smooth and satisfying. Made with English Pale malt, roasted barley, black patent malt, and flaked barley. Hopped with East Kent Goldings and Target hops, and fermented with our English ale yeast. Food Pairings: The combination of Onward Stout and oysters is a match made in heaven. It also goes well with other shellfish, grilled steaks, and believe it or not, rich chocolate desserts. Carbonade Flamande, seared beef cubes simmered in Stout for several hours, is a classic Belgian dish. OG: 11.3 Plato FG: 4.3 Plato IBUs: 35 SRM: 45 3.8% abv

Another Yazoo brew from bluesandbarbq. This brew was black in color with a surprisingly mild aroma. I thought with the espresso chocolate taste, I would smell more of either or both of these two favorite flavors of mine. This beer was sweet but the sweetness was quickly exchanged with the tart tingle of this brew. Thanks Lou for all the dark deliciousness!

A gift from bluesandbarbq & mwiscount. Jet black and clear with little head. Cocoa aroma, subtle and sweet. Tart coffee flavor, yet not acidic. Mild bitterness is pleasant and not overwhelming. Rich, tingly, wet-- light without sacrificing flavor.

1st bottle from a recent TN shipment....thanks Lou for the goodies! Pours a midnight black with a filmy thin brown head and very little lacing. Big roasted aroma with a firm amount of burnt offering thrown in. Leathery and earthy, perhaps a mild influence from SUE. Light bodied for a stout with a very faint metallic tinge, but nothing to get upset about. Hearty dark malt profile with a subtle creaminess. Dry finish and easy going.

Growler from recent trip to Yazoo's Taproom; a long-time wish list item. Beautiful near black pour, tall tan head and adequate lazy lacing throughout. Nice coffee/espresso aroma, rich and toasted malts, a hint of molasses, very light brown sugar, earthy hops. Taste is much bigger than the 3.8% ABV making it a fantastic session brew: smooth coffee and dark chocolate flavor, toasted malts, very light cream smooth sweetness, light earthy hops with a dry finish. BIG flavor - very very nice smooth stout - wife loves it too which is always a bonus. EXTREMELY drinkable. Definitely will refill growlers of this one next time in Nashville. This growler will not last long...

Aroma is faint coffee, licorice, and soy sauce. Appearance is pitch black with small head. Flavor is bitter and a little odd with coffee and soy sauce. Overall sorry to my locals I'd take Guinness over this. Onward to another Yazoo!

Not as good as Guinness....what a shame. In fact, I just had problems getting excited about this beer. A black beer, thin tan cap (and she said it was a nitro tap) with a metallic roasted malt aroma. It tasted quite weak, not as full and creamy as most stouts I've tried.

Sampled on draft at the Flying Saucer, Nashville. pours a dark, coffee brown with a collared tan head. Aroma is one dimensional: coffee. The flavor is roasted malt, caramel and chocolate. Good, but nothing remarkable for this style. Medium to full-bodied, but very lightly carbonated. A good beer, an average stout.

Excellent stout, dark, malty with accents of caramel and mocha. Excellent hop character that doesn't linger. Heavy body beer with a smoothe finish.
