Pale Ale by style, but that is where the similarity to most IPAs ends. Each consecutive batch of Hop Project is brewed with a different blend of spicy, aromatic hops, never using the same blend twice. It's a Hophead's dream come true! Check the bottled on date and our blog to decode what specific hop varieties we used in that batch.

Bottle from Rockwell Grill, thanks. Light orange with lasting lacing white foam head. Nice hoppy aroma, likewise good bitter taste. Long lasting bitter aftertaste. A realy good IPA, like it. (Velp 201409)

I had this beer out of a keg while on a fishing trip at the South Holston in Tennesse. This was a nice hoppy beer - more pine than citrus. An overall very nice IPA - you neeed a tooth brsu to scrub the hops off when you were done.

Pours a clear coppery brown with a respectable buff-colored head. Aroma is hoppy and grassy with a strong fruity overtone that is as much apple/pear as citrus. Hoppy flavor is quite bitter but not fiercely so, with hints of grass and fruit. Texture is smooth and minimally fizzy. An interesting IPA, not my favorite but still worthy.

Among the best I've had from Yazoo - courtesy of Lou - thanks! Pours clear amber-orange-copper with a moderate white head that laces really well. Tart grapefruit and pine to the nose translates to the flavor that is refreshing and bold without being overpowering. Nicely bitter tempered by a hint of malt. Veeeery good.

#35...bottled August 2010. Why aren't these listed as different beers? the ingredients in each version are apparently different... anywho - beer #1999 for me, via Lou. Aroma pops...caramel malt sweetness and vibrant citrus and spicy hops. very nice. while the aroma screams ipa, the flavor profile and feel is more like a pale ale. a good pale ale, but a little more on the light side than i expected. quite tasty and sessionable, with good balance and a lingering bitter finish.

Thanks Lou for the bottle! Poured to a copper color and didnt catch a bunch of aroma, what I did catch is a buttery note. I'm thinking I should of drank this a bit sooner. The taste was ok but not overwhelming with hops. I'd consider this to be a nice session brew for sure. Thanks again Blue Lou!

A pretty nice IPA overall. Courtesy of Lou. Pours a hazey copper with some decent lacing around the glass. Sticky, white and very piney on the nose. Taste is fruit forward, only mildly bitter. Clean and citrusy with lots of grapefruit. Awesome beer! :)

Bottled in the 2nd week of February: Aroma is catty and very strong with notes of dank pine and cabbage. Honey comes into play followed by more green leafy vegetables. Hazy copper-orange body, filmy head and layers of lacing. Medium bodied, decent bitterness. Flowery and fruity hops that become more abrasive as the beer goes down. Toffee, honey and rolls with the vegetables showing up in the aroma. Odd mixture all around and the cabbage becomes distracting.

They should label the bottles or combine the ratings because it is way too much work to figure out which one I have so I am rating this as it has the most ratings. This poured a orange color with an orange and perfume aroma. The flavor is rather tame with some slight bitterness and some oranges and lemons. This one is really missing the hop bite I like in an IPA but the flavor is nice. Overall decent session stuff. Version #13
