First brewed for the Colonial British in India, oak casks of IPA survived in the holds of ships sailing through the Indian Ociean. Since hops and alcohol helped to preserve beer, it had plenty of both. Although it isn't aged in oak, our has a powerful hop character.

Had it at the source. Rich and clear copper body under almost no head. Hops and citrus for the nose. Flavour had great hop bitterness, with a smooth mouth and nice finish.

The menu describes this as a powerful kickass IPA in the true British tradition, but I found it rather benign. A hazy golden orange pour with a citrusy aroma and biscuity malt. The flavour, while hoppy, does nothing to blow you away.
