An Imperial IPA made with Marris Otter pale malt, 3 different hop varieties from 3 different parts of the world, fermented fairly dry.... The result; a nuclear meltdown of hops!

From the private SAQ import. Pours a cloudy amber colour with a big warm yellow cap, great retention and loads of fluffy lace. Fruity malts with lots of caramel and even butterscotch at one point. The hop is present, but the whole thing seems more like a normal IPA, not like an Impy IPA. Notes of grapefruits eventually appear. Alcohol is very well-hidden, goes down quite nicely. Grapefruit zest in the taste offering a little dryness. Orange hints linger in the aftertaste. Really smooth overall and different for the style as previously mentioned. In a good way.

Bottled@CPH BF 2011. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is Nelson Sauvinish tropical fruityness, mild wooden notes as well. Flavour is fruity, wooden and also some maltyness. Bigtime bitterness. Aftertaste is very tropical fruity along with some wooden bitterness as well.
